Trump did denounce the violent white nationalist as he also denounced the violent Antifa fascist by saying and I quote "I condemd in the strongest possible terms the violence on both sides" . He is president of everyone its not his place to pick a side. Both groups caused the voilence, how can you have violence without two opposing sides? May be monotonous but Antifa went there with weapons to confront them which wasnt neccessary. Best way to send a message to a violent left or violent right group is to ignore them. BTW I could care less about a "growing number of republicans" since a "growing number of republicans" are not keeping there promises to the people that elected them.

Let's start with birtherism.... the overtly racist movement that launched Trump's political career. Let's move on to Trump's long refusal to disavow David Duke, and then to Trump's racist attacks against the Ohio judge and the Silver Star family.... and the rallies where he encouraged thugs to violence and promised to pay for their legal defense.

I remember a time when Republicans abhorred Nazis and Soviets. What happened to those days? We are seeing the natural culmination of 30 years of right wing racist media propaganda from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. I'm sorry to say that this is going to get much worse before it gets any better.... because we have an overt racist in the White House who believes in division to buttress his own support. I agree. There are however, distinct differences in the way yesterday's events are being portrayed and events such as those in Ferguson were. BLM and other similar groups who rioted were imbued with legit"reasons" and largely excused for their actions.

In order to prevent either, we have to understand both. We look at Ferguson and simply dismiss it/rationalize it as a reaction to racism and racist cops. Too easy and not really a true analysis. We look at yesterday and fail to acknowledge that when you tell someone long enough that everything is their fault, they should get in the backseat, they are deplorable and don't have a right to speak.....they will react.

Trump is not going to help, just like Obama did not. We may be heading toward a civil war of type. I think Obama knew this. I think civilians have seen it coming. Why do you think the fight over guns/ammo ownership is so intense?

 

A leader yes. A moderate? No. Moderates are nice but they lack the ability to clearly lead. Just like socialists, they are not the answer.
