Pains me to say it, but bama would have ass-raped Florida last year.

I also think some of you may be getting Terry confused with Tusk. Terry is as objective & knowledgeable of poster as you'll find around these parts. Give the guy a break. We need him to stick around; he's a virtual college football encyclopedia.

Your check will be in the mail tomorrow. It's already been by today.

I certainly haven't forgotten consecutive years, with discussions here, during game weeks all I could say was, "you aren't going to beat us that badly."

Then there was the game in 2003 where you did.

I agree, I wish we had more rival fans on here like Terry, who wants to only hear from people who think the same way they do? Defending your team, debating the games, giving a different perspective is fun. Especially with someone who knows what he's talking about. We run folks off like that, we end up being like those snobs at tidefans, "hey we're the greatest, and if you don't agree 1000%, you're gone"

I don't miss the backhanded bragging and insultng that tusk did, he was just an ass, IMO

Don't waste your time, Terry. Tiger_fan cannot tolerate anyone who disagrees with him. If you do, then you are hysterical and an idiot.

Actually i routinely don't respond to posts i don't agree with (including with you, Red), its usually only when something is absolutely ridiculous that i speak up.

Good deal. You are free to speak up. But others are free to disagree. Nobody gets to stifle discussion.

I actually like Terry, and while yes Florida was lucky last year ... so was Bama. Bama was extremely lucky that we choked. Bama was lucky other teams choked and they got to back themselves into yet another bcs title game.

Was Bama the best team in college football last year? I'd say consistently, yes. But they were still lucky to get a chance to play for that trophy.

Bama's been lucky because other teams screwed up the last two years in a row. 2011 was the sweetest. Iowa State knocking Okie State out...when Chizik had failed so miserably at Iowa State...Roof being vilified when he was was forced out at Auburn...still makes me laugh a little thinking about all the small story lines involved that season.

There's a degree of luck in any team that makes a run for the NC at the end of the year and wins it.

When I say this I realize there is some bias involved.

When I consider teams in the past, let's say quarter of a century, that didn't need any luck only one team comes to mind. Nebraska- 1995. The closest game they had that season was to a weak Washington State team and which they won by two touchdowns. The rest of their games? They just beat the livin' snot out of everybody. You remember how they tore a new one in Spurrier's Gators in the NC game?

The bias comes in when people have mentioned a few teams to also consider. One guy mentioned USC in 2004. Squeaking by UCLA (a .500 team at seasons end) eliminates them. The bias factor weighs in because I didn't, don't, and won't care for Pete Carroll's...meh, another thread.

Miami in the early nineties? A LOT of talent, but there's the bias factors again. That "gangsta" approach they so willingly displayed turned me off from day one.

Miami, 2001 is close to Nebraska 1995. The "U" outscored their opponents in 12 games by just under 400 points in 12 games that season.

    BUT, Nebraska in 1995? 12 games, 638-174.

The difference is some fan bases are willing to admit luck. 2007, we were extremely lucky to back into a title etc. Bama for the most part (admittedly not so much you, at least not here), is like see it's just showing how great we are.
