WTF's up with that tortilla tossin' anyway. I've spent quite a bit of time in Lubbock but don't ever remember being bored enough that I considered throwin' tortillas. :dis: Agree on the aggys. TTech makes aggy nervous as a sheep in Collie Station.
It started with, of all things, the aggies and their cheerleaders (that term also burns the aggies no end). Some brainiac back in the last 80's realized tortilla actually fly like a frisby, well at least a mass produced tortilla. The aggie cheerleaders were an obvious target to pop at great distances. It grew from that to covering the end zones when ever they score.
Back in the Big 8 days, we hooked up home-home with Nebraska and Colorado. But since 1979, no we haven't. OU, Nebraska, Texas and a$m are the only road venues that would offer any pay out. I know Mizzou and K-State have played home game in Kansas City, but that is about it.
How is the jurisdiction in New Orleans? The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is in New Olreans, but there is a federal court in Baton Rouge. Was the contract signed in New Orleans? I find that unlikely.
Well, yes, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals covers Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, but I'm sure the quote by the Texas A&M AD must have meant that he thought the case would be brought before a federal district court, of which there is one in Baton Rouge, as well as Waco, TX and Austin, TX. It's an odd quote, even if it is accurate. Does he think that a federal court, even in Baton Rouge, would be biased toward LSU. It's even worse if he made it up. Are we to belive he was really advised by someone that they should not try to sue LSU becasue the jurisdiction would be in New Orleans? That's a crock. Sounds like someone over there knows that, in reality, they had no case.
I also remember the A&M AD, i think the previous one, stating that he didn't want to play LSU anymore because he didn't want to have the Tigers get into the recruiting hotbed of the greater Houston area any more than they already are. There was some talk about possibly playing at Reliant Stadium. His belief was that by playing LSU there would be huge media coverage in the Houston area thereby opening up potential recruits to look outside of the A&M - Texas box. I vaguely remember this being in the Chronicle, but can't verify it.
