Right is a poor substitute for wisdom. They may have the legal right to do so, but what a shame they lacked the wisdom to build it elsewhere.
If my plan to kill all muslims was adopted, this wouldn't be a problem. Seriously, as I've said before, if they allow closed circuit cameras accessed by Homeland Security, I'd be OK with it. But, change the opening date. A "F**k Allah" billboard on Vesey Street would be a nice touch as well.
ok, fine i dont necessarily agree with the opening date, that is not the smartest idea in the world. but one point i would like to make here is that there are genuinely millions of good muslims that if you met them you would really like and trust. i am not sure if you guys are serious about this idea that muslims all suck. they do, but in the same sense that christians all suck. they are ok people. a mosque is not a bad thing, its not a big deal at all. this mosque story is a big hubbub over nothing. it doesnt and it shouldnt.
The essence of Islam, that which makes Islam itself and not another religion, is Sharia is the will of God for ALL and that Muslims must actively bring about universal submission to it. Define what a good Muslim means to you?
Isn't that the same with Christianity and every religion? How else to maintain itself if not by commanding all believers to go out and convert everyone?
