Yeah. That's why I think that preseason polls should be done away with. Let the first polls come out after week 8 when everyone has already played some tough conference games. IT's only at that time, when things are starting to take shape anyway.

Regarding LSU moving up, if Boise St. beats Louisville, there is a legitimate chance that LSU passes up Boise St. as well, since they are just a few points ahead of us in both polls. So I am pulling for Boise St in that one.

If Michigan beats Texas barely and LSU whollups Iowa, then LSU could stay ahead of Michigan and will definitely pass Texas.

LSU in that case, if all the other teams on your list lose as well, puts LSU to #4. That would be too incredible to end the year.

    I'll gladly take a 6 or 7 spot, however.

LSU will most likely be ranked ahead of UGA next season. UGA loses too much to be higher than us. The Wisconsin/UGA game will have little barings on next year's preseason rankings.

If Wisconsin shows up to play, Anthony Davis may rush for 200 yards. If the team they developed into the last 3 games of the season arrives then UGA will get it done. Where's Jim Sorgi when you need him? oh yeah the NFL.

Interesting chances here for LSU ... and I've got 10 large for some Bowl game fun

Cal is a -11.5 favorite ... I like TT's passing game, but don't count on a TT win here

    Louisville is a solid 14 point favorite ... Boise's streak ... :dis:

Chalk up one spot for LSU

GA is a solid -7 favorite ... and could win this game ... but they have an erratic bowl record and don't dominate teams ... OT win over Purdon't last year

Texas is a shaky 6 point favorite over Michigan ... I like LSU's chances to gain a poll spot here

Utah is an unflappable -16.5 favorite ... it's not gonna happen

Auburn opened a TD favorite here ... but this line will drop like a stone. VT hasn't gotten enough respect for handling Miami like they did. I expect a VT win ... and just flat out hate AU ... I expect no help for LSU here

:lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug:

I expect LSU to move up 1 spot on a Boise St. loss

I expect LSU to gain another spot on either a Texas or GA loss.

I expect VT to beat AU straight up.

I would like to see LSU gain an extra spot based on the Iowa result (LSU needs a dominating 3-4 TD win) and their status as defending National Champs who play balls out FB for 60 minutes

Guessing LSU at #8 Final BCS & Coaches ... Top 10 AP ... they suck azz anyway, who cares about them.

What I'd really love to see is Auburn blown out by VT and dropped behind LSU ... It could very well happen

... Just ask Miami if VT has a FB team

USC opened -3 over OU ... I like USC's defense to slow Peterson & the OU run ... Leinart (Will get the Heisman) will find a way to score enough to win here ... You azzclowns who laughed at and ****ed with me last year for predicting USC to manhandle Michigan in the trenches ... :hihi: ... think about the man matchups before you leap on OU this year

Also, I want USC sitting pretty in the catbird's seat in 2005 (pretty as an ole' fashioned ho swingin' outta a Bourbon Street saloon window

And then LSU will get their azz in a 2005 NC showdown ... it's just a matter of time ... it's gonna happen

I"m rooting for Texas to win via a huge awe-inspiring performance from Vince Young. Then I'll tape it and send it to RP and let him compare that QB situation to ours (hopefully a great performance by a Sr. QB about to leave a wide open spot).

cal will win this. TT and your pick for Symons as best college qb may the funniest thing ever. gimmick offense, gimmick coach. I guess Kingsbury was next.

boise will get hammered. total should be somewhere near 100. Louisville may score 60.

wisconsin fading of late. Team spirit in the dumps though the Godfather can coach. should be close with UGA hurting them with speed by game's end.

Texas is not shaky, michigan is. The most overrated offense in football. braylon edwards and no one. UT covers spread, dominates game. rocking chair game. over at end of 3.

best QB in the land, smartest player as well with a top coach. Hammers Pitt into submission although giving up a few scores late. something like 44-24.

As I told you, AU loses unless they dominate rushing front. Va Tech a better coached team and if playing against a zero emotion AU squad, Hokies wi
    n.

I expect LSU to move up 1 spot on a Boise St. loss yes

I expect LSU to gain another spot on either a Texas or GA loss. no

I expect VT to beat AU straight up. gonna be close. yep.

I would like to see LSU gain an extra spot based on the Iowa result (LSU needs a dominating 3-4 TD win) not sure, i love LSU too much to think straight.

lsu will win a relatively close game. hopefully score a few cheap ones late. LSU will almost certainly not win by 3 or 4 tds unless they score 2 defensively though let's expect spears and cw to get one each and finish Nick Saban style. making a statement. Ok, Im in. LSU by 4 tds. let's do it.

Guessing LSU at #8 Final BCS & Coaches ... Top 10 AP ... they suck azz anyway, who cares about them.

LSU will be probably be 10th if they win.

so you got one prediction out of 200 right. why wouldn't anyone in their right mind NOT doubt you and go against anything you predict. funny you trumpet one pick out of 1000. congrats, mr 85%

OU wins this with AD being the difference. Shut down Bush, SC is done which OU will do.

The thing that Ramah doesn't understand is "who is going to win the game" has nothing to do with spread. Spread is created by handicappers but moves with the amount of bets being taken on either team. Case in point - LSU comes out a 7 pt favorite, alot think this line is to large for such a defense like Iowa, so you have heavy betting on Iowa getting 7. The line slowly moves down giving Iowa less and less pts. in order to spark betting on the other team, LSU. This balances the book, so to speak, so that the bookie or Vegas for that matter doesnt get thumped in the nuts after a game. Spread has NOTHING to do with what will go on in the game. Initial handicapping gives -3 to teams with home field advantage and from there its just a guess for the rest of the points.

P.S. I hardly believe that you, Ramah, throw around the type of money on the picks that you "say" you bet on. If you did, your bank must be very low if not in the "knees being broke" zone. Word of advise that I learned after working for a bookie all through highschool, and then become a gambler after that... Bookie will always win, because gambling money has no home. From 1996-1997 I controlled my boss' entire booking operation, and made alot of money f king people with lines and dumping bets on games I was heavy on. And every Wednesday, I would see guys like you walk in and hand me an envelope with a grimace. My advise, try booking and you'll make more money, especially with the homer betting that you do.

dude, you're preaching to the choir. everyone knows he's a farce. don't believe a word said. anyone with a year in the biz knows better though its rather funny i must admit.

I did work in that area, too, for quite a few years and yes, the envelopes get fatter and fatter on wednesdays, the longer their chase becomes. Some just never get it. I present to you: exhibit A. ^^^^ he keeps the line honest for others like me. at least he only loses thousands of his "cyber" money. anyone with half a brain already knows him as a fraud. no revelation here. its just an online macho thing or something, i dunno.

you are correct in stating that the line is not a prediction on the game. its in the middle where they (oddsmakers) think the "idiots" and the "smart money" think it should be. Most never understand that...even those who continue to lose and lose. see exhibit A ^^^^ once more as a prime example.

good post by the way. I agree wholeheartedly. I am glad you rephrased something most people never understand. I tried before but its difficult to grasp for a lot of ppl which is understandable because most don't care anyhow.
