its like I said before, only reason their is such a thing as a split title is because people like SI, ESPN, AP thinks other wise, NCAA and BCS dont think theirs a split title and that what matters more since its thier system and their league. IMO, theirs only one national champion.
In a twisted way, I sort of hoped more (maybe 15-20) coaches had done the same thing as a protest; creating even more post season controversy. I think it takes something like that to make the BCS blowhearts tweak this thing to make sure similiar does not happen in the future. Heck, next year I'm hoping 4 teams (LSU + 3 others that are all media darlings) end up undefeated at their season's end.....
If I remember correctly, Lou Holtz has long been an advocate of a Div 1A playoff, so I'm thinking his vote maybe was in some way a protest vote to buck the system.
First of all props to your Tigers. There is no question in my mind who is the #1 team in the land. Secondly is there any valid source to this rumor? I’m sure that you guys have seen complete BS get spread as gospel on message boards before .... right? I’m asking because the only reference to this Holtz thing is on the message boards. Holtz is a stubborn old codger but this is hard to believe. No flame just seeking truth. Geaux Tigers! The true National Champions! :geaux:
I haven't seen any source mentioned, gamecocksfan. I do recall Holtz being quoted a few weeks back saying the he thought USC should be #1 if they won though.
Some coaches said they would cross out the #1 team listed and pencil in their choice. I know Pete Carroll had no vote now and the rest of the votes were supposed to be kept secret. Other than Saban and Stoops vote I don't know where the other info came from. Guess it is innocent until proven guilty.
is it possible this saying that the illinois coach voted for usc has the same merit as saban in kentucky. i would think the CAL coach would vote usc # 1 before the illinois coach would
