Feel bad for Strall. Easily his best outting as a Tiger and blown really by some bone head moves. Frustrating game to watch at times particularly going the distance, challenged by a generous but inconsistent zone and shotgun blast to the feet. Dunno whats up with Krob, but I dont mind saying take that fuckin Mr. T starter kit off your neck and play some baseball because right now, he's wasting reps for a baller like Smith or Slaughter at short. I'd move him to 3rd and let Smith field some at the cut off. 3 been looking like a diva and I'm glad I am not the only one seeing it. This Watson kid is really growing on me. Feisty little dude who is young but refuses to give up. He is becoming a solid at bat with a beautiful swing, paitence with the junk and usually goes down swinging. When he is on he never stop moving and the kids got wheels. Solid fielder and I'm beginning to say, what's not to like? Just asking, but what dynamic duo does CPM and Dunn remind you of? Ya ain't gotta look far...
I like Watsons grit as well. I didn't mean to turn you against Krob but I'm not liking what I'm seeing is all. Might be time for Smith sliding over if we don't win 2 of 3 this weekend. At least as a wake up call. Freeman could move to leadoff and I'd be ok with that. But we aren't dealing with Dave Duncan and Tony Larussa now are we. Our resident Don Quixote is gonna sway me before it's over.
I'm not necessarily turned off by Robertson, just disappointed is all. Due mostly to his fielding. His bat has been a little cooled lately and I won't hold that against him, even Deichman is having a cold bat but sloppy fielding with his potential has me believing he is probably juggling more women than he should. Line-up remains a question mark and CPM has shown that when needed, he can place them in a proper cycle, but this years science projects seem to be more off than ever. I do believe we will continue to struggle against stellar pitching. I've stated my case on Dunn and I remain a silent few, but I do believe he holds a bigger hand with where we are as a pitching team than Paul. He is not the pitching whisperer that is proclaimed and the evidence is there without the benefit of the occasional stud. He may do better with developed pro stock, but I remain unimpressed with his abilities towards HS grads. I just dont think we are recruiting potential as well as the other monsters on the landscape. I miss andy bad, real bad. But in the end, I am happy for Blake Dean. He is one of the rare young talented coaches that is doing more with less and I am happy for him. Maybe he can be one of ours again when Paul is permanently nursing that cobb that is stuck up his ass?
