I don't think CPM had that many options, to be honest. Could he have pulled him after 3?? I guess, but the guy was rolling along. Not many coaches would have pulled him. Maybe after the first walk he should have, but that's 2nd guessing. We are in good shape with a rested Poche and Lange. If we can't win with those two, then you tip your cap to Florida.
Zach Watson makes a play and LSU wins that game. That ball hit the warning track. That's a routine play. He got a bad jump on it moving forward on contact instead of back. Always move back first, you can make up ground and a diving catch is easier coming forward, fundamentals.
"Walks are my biggest worry. He may not get an out if he walks 2 batters you gotta pull him." Nope first guessing.
And like you said going all out changed nothing. Gotta make a play or st least an attempt. He lost it though so. the shadows. But even after that we had our chances but ran ourselves out of innings. Can't do that with singer. I'd move Robertson to 9th. Wouldn't think twice about it.
That play is going to haunt him the rest of his life. I made countless diving catches in the outfield in my high school and rec career, a few home run saves as well, but the ones I remember the most are the errors. I like the K Rob to 9th idea. Move Freeman up to lead off, and I'm also starting Coomes instead of Slaughter at first.
