I don't follow college baseball much. Six hour games not my cup of bourbon . However I was wrong about this team. I saw them in April and wasn't impressed. Gotta give them credit. They turned it around.
I don't care about baseball in any way. But I bleed purple and gold so I'm watching. Beaux Tigers! It's sort of how years ago I was changing channels on tv and came across LSU vs Alabama in Women's Gymnastics and then proceed to watch it fiercely for about 2 hours. Alabama won btw, I'm still pissed.
Walker gets the nod for game 2 so as long as his shoulder is healthy this morning. That allows Poche to pitch out of the pen tonight if needed for Lange. Paul stacking the deck for a run. I like it
Prolly be Poche game 3 with Hess soon warming up if any signs of trouble. Walker is a freshman and could melt down. Hess may have to bail him out under the pressure. But he's a freshman too. Hopefully they step up.
I like it for now but if for whatever reason Poche has to pitch more than an inning or 2 tonight who would get the start in a game 3? I would think Gilbert unless he also has to pitch on Monday. I've considered and feared a frosh meltdown under pressure from Walker but so far he has responded beautifully to the pressure in the SEC tournament and regional. It's also comforting to know we have Newman if Hess caves to the pressure.
