Bullshit! In chess both players alternate moves but the player with the white pieces has an advantage. In baseball the home team gets to bat in the bottom of the 9th if they are behind or if the game is tied so they know exactly what they have to do. Gives the home team a strategic advantage. The higher seeded team should have that advantage because they earned it. In college basketball even if all 4 #1 seeds make the final 4 they are still seeded based on what they did in the regular season. That's how it should be in baseball.
Two things. One, this ain't chess. Two, the defense knows exactly what they have to do, too. Pretty simple, really. You have to not let them score more than you.
