D1 currently has us slotted and projected as a national seed. We so need to take 2 from state. We take the state series, we get a mulligan for the SEC tourney awarded to us for national seed.

Currently, we are projected to host our regional with a 2 seed Baylor, 3 seed south alabamer and 4 seed jackson state.

3 weeks ago we we're projected a 2 seed elsewhere.

 

I am not real up to snuff on how the baseball seeding works exactly but I would assume that LSU would need to def win the series with state and at east win a couple games in the SEC tourney...one anyways....to lock that up. Seems like a one and done game in the tourney or def loosing the series this weekend would leave the door wide open for someone to make a run in their tourney be it an SEC team or otherwise and take spot away?

 

It is more of a projection of where they are now and of course, LSU needs to make more noise. But winning the state series means we don't necessarily need to win the SEC tourney to get the national seed. Lose the state series and the pressure on doing well in Hoover becomes necessary.

 

I'm not so sure we get a mulligan if we go 2 and out at Hoover. Take 2 out of 3 at Starkvegas amd win at least 2 tourney games and I feel pretty good about our seeding chances.

It really all comes down to this series. No time for fuckin around.

 

That's the chickenshit way of doing it. Lange just needs to set him up for the out pitch by staying ahead in the count.

 

Win tonight and tomorrow and Saturday's game wouldn't really matter. Just be a bonus to win it.
