Brought out Newman to close it. Desperate times call for desperate measures. We hold on 3-2. I wouldn't mind Tony robichaux as our coach.
Missed this one. At arguably one of the best shows I have ever seen. A Perfect Circle is one you should never ever miss. Geaux Tigers!
I wouldn't call it desperate. One inning each for co-closers Gilbert and Newman should have no effect even if they have to pitch Thursday. That's what the role of a closer is. Sure, it would have been great to have a 12-2 lead and Wholestaff 2.0 finish out the game but the inning of work should only help Newman's confidence going into the crucial weekend series. As far as Robichaux goes I wonder why he hasn't had big time offers from the bluebloods of college baseball.
My new favorite shirt, gotta love how every letter of pussy is made from another team. Started off by the alabama P. https://www.gearbubble.com/beatiger
After going 4-1 since middle last week, rpi is back up to 16 literally cutting it in half in 4 games. SOS is at a very respectable 8. Now old piss comes to town on a series starting tomorrow. Though they are unranked, their rpi is at 38. This makes this series bigger than one would think. They are 2-3 on the road but they got swept by miss. st. and dropped 2 to Kentucky. So they are having a hard time with teams in the top 25 and it is necessary for us to give them fits. We need a stellar result on the series because we face Kentucky on the road the following week. That series is going to be a tough deal and unless our offense comes to life, we are gonna be postured to having to win out to even sniff a national seed. Right now, I don’t think that is gonna happen, but I am doggin them and I ain’t letting off.
Hess and Newnan had a nasty slider/hook working. Was the best I've seen from Hess. And Peterson was more aggressive in the zone which is what he needs to do. The pine time for Hess seems to have pissed him off and has him making the best of every opportunity. This team needs hungry hungry hippos to be successful.
Baseball America projected field of 64 Lsu only sec team in the mix The SEC, at the moment, is tightly clustered in both the East and West divisions. In the East, first-place Kentucky (No. 10 RPI), South Carolina (15), Florida (12) and Vanderbilt (20) all have Top 20 RPIs and are within two games of each other in the standings. In the West, there’s a three-way tie in the standings among Arkansas (No. 22 RPI), Auburn (28) and Mississippi State (26) with Louisiana State (16) just one game back and Mississippi (39) and Texas A&M (32) within striking distance. All of those teams are in this Field of 64 with the exception of Ole Miss, which is sitting on the bubble as the first team out. But there’s little separating the top of the pack from the bottom. So which team will come out on top? That answer will likely fluctuate over the next few weeks as these teams face each other head to head. This week, coming off a series win at Arkansas, LSU is the choice to represent the SEC as a national seed, supplanting Florida and leapfrogging the Gamecocks and Wildcats, as well. All three of those teams are coming off of series losses, and based on the talent at LSU’s disposal and its upcoming schedule, the Tigers earned the nod. However, that pecking order can change in a hurry and it is completely conceivable that the conference could end up with a second national seed in the end. http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/projected-field-64-april-12/#QBZbDSSp5yBsRPw8.97
Just saw highlights of the game. If Kramer Robertson isn't the best fielding SS in college baseball, please tell me who is. I think he's won at least 3 or 4 games with his defense alone. He won Sunday's game against the Hogs for sure and last night, he threw out a runner at the plate in what ended up being a 1 run game after making a diving stop behind 2nd base into short centerfield. Check out the 2:20 mark of the highlights in link below. Oh by the way, he also drove in 2 of the 3 LSU runs.
