i thought martin was using this forum to refine this arguing style test that he provides on his website http://www.queendom.com/tests/access_page/index.htm?idRegTest=673
and to think martin says there is no God! "3Your words have silenced others and made them ashamed; now it is only right for you to be put to shame." Job 11:3 CEV
Just got another PM from Martin. He said that he thinks the Mets, although they are 2-0 and have beat the World Champs twice to open the season, are a one-hit wonder and will tank this year. He said he switched teams and loves the Braves. Thanks for the update Martin!:thumb:
He also PM'd me and asked that I inform you that your assertation that God must exist is Right on. He thiknks its the most inteligent statement he's ever read on this forum.:thumb:
I find this to be somewhat curious. I can understand being stingy with personal information on the web to some degree. But something so basic as an occupation has such miniscule bearing on one's personal identity that I can't help but be somewhat leary when someone refuses to divulge such information. But I don't think he's an actor, as he has continually implied that he is anti-social and seems to loathe everyday human interaction in general. At any rate, the dude is certainly one of the most interesting posters that I've encountered on any board. I don't always agree with him (although I think that I do much more often than he realizes), but he's incredible at rationalizing his stance, regardless of the extremity that may be associated with it. I've always appreciated people that challenge your viewpoint, and martin does this as well as anyone. Lately, though, I simply haven't had the time or energy to go back and forth with him for hours on end like I used to. But supafan's post brought up an interesting point. martin will preach to no end about people taking personal jabs (and rightly so), yet he is, without a doubt, the most condescending individual on the board. No, he won't call you a name, or make an all-out personal attack. But nearly every statement is laced with some sort of smarmy, back-handed remark about someone. Supposedly, that's different than what he preaches about, but I don't see how. It makes it nearly impossible to concede any argument with him, as human nature dictates that you will almost always defend yourself against a percieved attack.
Just received another PM from him. He thinks the Mets are obviously cheating this year. It's the only explantion he has for them having a 10 run lead over the Cards. It is his beleif that everyone on the Mets roster is juicing.
