I just had to say 1 more thing....... With Nick Saban at the helm I could've been a DB coach and looked like a champion:shock:
Hey, ed reed ,the canes has their best football behind them, with that new conference they will be lucky to get finished with less than three losses a year. your coach sucks, he only lasted this long thanks to butch davis. in your new conference you will play a real football schedule, instead of 2 or maybe 3 really tough games a year. after 2004 ya'll will be looking for a new coach or should i say general with all those "soldiers" ya'll have ! enjoy the championships ya'll have because you won't see anymore in the next 5 years, if not 10 yrs.
Ed Weed - Comparing Thug U to LSU on an academic level is like comparing a third world country to the US. (Hint: the 3rd world country would be the one where they don't know how to vote. Still don't get it? It's the one with the initials "U" and "M".) Shouldn't you be listening to your hooked on phonics before tomorrow's exam?
Re: like Miami's an ivy league school Unless you are a football player your Daddy has to have a lot more money to get you into Miami than he does to get you into LSU.
Poster Boy for former Cane's players who have plenty of time to post smack on internet forums - Ed Reed from Destrehan, LA who's Baltimore Ravens were eliminated from the NFL playoffs in the first round.
LOL, so he's no good now since Miami dropped him for grades, huh? All of a sudden ... just like magic, he's damaged goods off to a Baton Rouge third tier reform school. Why couldn't Miami repeat after their 2001 NC? WHY WHY WHY? Tell us! Yes, key losses to graduation yes, but also grade problems Will LSU fare any better than Miami in 2004? LSU LOST ZERO TO ACADEMICS THIS PAST SEASON AND ALL CLEARED NCAA MINIMUM GUIDELINES .............. WOW! :dis: CAN MIAMI SAY THAT? :dis:
Third Tier? And that would make Miami of Florida, the Harvard of Spring Break, ........uh, fifth tier?
http://2theadvocate.com/stories/011604/spo_highsmith001.shtml Highsmith said his decision to attend LSU came after Miami asked him to attend a junior college after passing the SAT and then enrolling at Miami in the fall of 2004. "I told them I didn't want to do that," Highsmith said of attending a nearby junior college in Miami. "That's when I called LSU. I watched them a little this season and I would like a chance to repeat (as national champions)."
If Miami chooses to have admission standards higher than the NCAA minimum, why not make it something meaningful like 1000 on the SAT? 1200? 1300? To simply state that your standards are higher when all you did is fail to change from the old NCAA minimum of 820 is a bit misleading, don't you think? One more thing, I'd wager a fair sum that the average gpa's and test scores of the football athletes admitted to Miami are far lower than those of the average non-athlete. If you Miami fans are going to spout off about the academic superiority of your athletes, shouldn't you play on the same field as Vanderbilt, Rice or Stanford, whose athletes must meet the same admission standards as the rest of its student body?
