i think the atheists who actually fought and died for america would disagree, and i dunno why you think you would have any idea what they believe in.
Yes, I disagree with your assesment. Funny how we bombed a few terrorist camps and didn't take them all out. One question for you, did the terrorists reuse those camps after we bombed them. There wasn't any major actions, how funny that Clark stayed around for the Clinton years and then left before Bush's cabinet was filled. There was truely no way to know which way this administration was going to go before he quit. Comparing Somalia to a ceasefire agreement after the 1st Gulf war is hardly a comparison, you've been reaching lately after my last few posts.' Reagan also put the leader of Lebanon in his place, killed his daughter, etc. There was no reason to stay, we never had any more problems with him. I was just pointing out that Carter couldn't run a simple rescue mission. I guess you have forgotten just how we all felt when he was president. It was humiliating and we didn't have faith in our country until Reagan got elected. How could he run a war? Some Democrats have been irresponsible with their rhetoric and seem to be siding with the enemy, I wouldn't bet on a democrat winning anytime soon since they have no ideas other than to oppose any idea this president or anyone else has. One more time, Did the terrorists reuse these camps or any near by after we bombed them? The truth is we are the United States of America and there is no way we couldn't have gotten Osama or Al Quada if we truely wanted them going back to the Clinton years. I guess we didn't take out all of their terrorist camps did we?
Actually Clark held his position until well after 9/11 before resigning in disgust. You are often confused, Sourdough. Now you're confusing Lebanon with Libya. Libya is the country we bombed and killed Quadaffis "daughter" (he adopted her postumously after the bombing). Lebanon is the country Reagan pulled out of after the ungrateful ragheads killed 241 Marines peacekeepers in a single suicide attack. It's a damned good comparison to Somalia and Reagan did the same thing Clinton did. Carter didn't run the rescue mission, amigo. He just authorized it. The mission was run by Delta Force. Well Clinton took out TWO before 9/11 compared to Bush's ZERO. Now Al Qaida is sending their terrorists to Iraq for on-the-job-training against real American targets, conveniently placed there for their use.
This is an interesting angle on the occupation that I heard on NPR today...that the 'terrarists' don't want us to leave because they are being well-trained in how to fight us. Of course, that training doesn't do much good when their dead.
You got me on getting Libya and Lebanon mixed up Red. Well, considering the first WTC attacked happened in 93? How many years did it take and did Al Quada reuse those camps after we lobbed a few missiles over there? If we meant business we should have taken them all out. I will agree with you on Bush somewhat about his first 8 months but to be totally fair, its not like all his cabinet positions and appointments were filled so I have to give him just a little bit of room to be fair. --------------------------------------------------------- Originally Posted by red55 Now Al Qaida is sending their terrorists to Iraq for on-the-job-training against real American targets, conveniently placed there for their use. --------------------------------------------------------- Sounds good to me, it works both ways, we get on the job training on killing these suckers but you know what I prefer? I've said many time we should pull a Truman such as WWII. Fire bomb the hell out of these countries behind this, Pakistan, Syria, Iran and is there any other country I've missed. You could get this mess over with a lot faster. Does anyone thinking we could be just putting this off? WE might have to do this sometime in the future, no choice. Did you see my reply about our soldiers getting treated worse because of Gitmo, etc.? Red, I love debating you my friend! :thumb:
