Cruz and his fellow Texans in the House had a statement day back then, knowing the funding will pass. It was purely political. Again, trying to create a situation to stand out among the other Republicans who vote for "pork".

On a side note, I lean conservative but I have never been with that guy. He is a backstabbing weasel. He got the Senate seat by throwing David Dewhurst under the bus and he has done nothing but grandstand his way to Republican primaries last year. That was the first weasel Trump beat.

Will the Democrats do the same? Or is bringing this up now, distracting from the real issues of human suffering, going to be enough?

what you have seen is neighbor helping neighbor. there have been a few bad apples but the huge majority is out there helping. several times when calls went out asking for help at rescue centers, in just a few hours the radio was announcing they had enough supplies.

I think it speaks highly to the people of the impacted areas. to hell with the attention grabbers..

 

I saw a private boat with a confederate flag rescuing a load of black folks. No protesting that action

 

not surprising since one does not have to hate black folks to love that flag
