Longhorn Network might have failure written all over it. It attracts only UT fans (and only a percentage of those). There is tons of money invested in it by ESPN. Verizon is the only major provider that has picked it up. It can't be a big as it wanted to be (can't show high school football). It is only airing 2 UT games this year.

There will not be enough time to let this thing take off before the conference goes nuclear and UT has to dump the network and go in a different direction.

They are doing what they can to keep the longhorn network together. It's the reason A&M, Nebraska and Colorado left. It's the reason why the PAC said no thanks. The only reason they are now trying to get the big 12 to stay in tact is because it's the only hope for them to keep all the revenue from their network. Believe me, Texas is only looking out for Texas and if the big 12 crumbles and the rest of the conference is left out in the cold, they could care less. However the handwriting is on the wall. The rest of the conference has had enough and no other conference will allow the network to benefit Texas only. Texas is about to get what they have been giving the rest of the big 12. They might as well bend over and get ready.

Texas isnt about to get anything BUT paid as long as they are under contract with ESPN & TLN

I admit, Texas is a bunch of snide SOB's with their nose in the air, but they are in the best possible position out of the Big 9 "Today"

IMO - PAC wants Oklahoma & State, but basically told Oklahoma to go deal with their own issues with Texas and when you come back, dont you dare bring those Selfish SOB's to my dinner table again.

Bottom Line, IMO, the ball is in Oklahomas court. And Texas will do everything they can to spin the conference melt down on OU if OU decides to leave first!

Their position deteriates with every passing hour. With the PAC turning up their nose at the Texas stench it is apparent that they will have to share revenue in what ever conference they end up or Oklahoma and okie state are gone. Their position today compared to this time last year is much much worse and going down hill quickly.

Texas will be fine financially for at least this and next year. But Texas has no business NOT sharing TV revenue from their network evenly with all of the teams in whatever conference they end up in. It's just the way, and I don't know what the hell they are trying to prove.

Dude you got it all wrong. I was stating OU's position not UTerus. You aren't trying to say that OU is trying to advocate for the lhn are you?

Texas is going independent in Football just like Notre Dame.....they make so much money that they don't care about anyone else. They will go independent before they give up the Longhorn Network. I really think that all conferences should have equal revenue sharing....otherwise its not a conference and will never be stable. A&M should have departed the conference last year when it had the chance.
