Looks like this move is a done deal. It's amazing how quiet Texas and OU were able to keep this since they've supposedly been working for months on this. What's the biggest effect this will have on LSU? Depending on the new scheduling format, I think the yearly games against Alabama, Auburn, and Florida are gone. I actually don't have a problem with this, but I'm sure some of you will not like this. It's hard not to think that LSU is losing a hard yearly opponent in Bama and gaining two easier opponents.
I don’t like the idea of not playing Bama yearly. Playing them is the true measuring stick. The playoffs seem easier once you’ve slayed goliath.
We probably only have 4 or 5 more years of that. Afterwards, who knows what the schedule rotation will be. Maybe we can still meet up yearly in the SEC championship game. OWho? and Horns Down!
Go check out dirt burglars……..never knew they were caviar nibbling, champagne swilling blue bloods till now.
I won't like losing Alabama, Auburn, and Florida, but if it goes to the pod format and we still play them (and everyone else) 2 out of 4 years, I don't think it's that bad. I actually kind of like the idea of playing more teams with increased regularity. Plus, this is something that was going to happen at some point, and I'd rather the SEC be out in front of it, rather than reacting and not getting their pick.
it's happening.... https://www.kjrh.com/sports/ou-texa...M8X8aC_qVNLTR6RzY7DTOLCiOxCP9TH1JILtbDkOgbJEA OU, Texas to leave Big 12 & join SEC "barring any unforeseen developments" according to reports By: Cayden McFarland Posted at 10:53 AM, Jul 23, 2021 and last updated 11:53 AM, Jul 23, 2021 The Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns are leaving the Big 12, according to several reports. Friday morning Horns247 reported the teams "are leaving the league and barring any unforeseen developments, will join the Southeastern Conference," citing a high-level source. The Big 12 league was founded in 1994 and OU and Texas were founding members. According to Horns247, officials plan to tell Big 12 officials about their plans on Monday.
Used to be didn't they? Back when they were actually were brawls. Not ass whuppings by record numbers (55-17) & shutouts (29-0 & 10-0) not so much.
Really? Who outside the deep river parishes would trade Lincoln Riley or Steve Sarkisian to get Ed Orgeron on purpose? And historically, LSU hasn't won enough games to call either OU or Texas "Easy wins". LSU has a losing record against Texas. And because of Brady/ Burrough have a 1 game lead on Oklahoma.
