Preach it brother, I live in Austin and these guys are call RP all kinds of BS. They say he comitted....but the fail to relize that he was stonger on LSU than UT acording to Rival yesterday. They just can't believe someone would not want to attend there precious UT... PS see Adrian Peterson last year folks. I dont know if I'm happier RP is at LSU or the fact he snubbed UT.
I don't mind seeing them roll around in agony. The kid verbally committed early last year. Then late in 2004 the LSU rumors started coming. UT should have had a backup plan. They should have recruited another QB anyway. The biggest snub was this kid Daniels I think....from Southlake. Yesterday he got a call from UT trying to sway him from his committment from Mizzou. Doing the samething they blame LSU for doing. Yet the guy told them no. He said that UT hasn't recruited before and now that they got snubbed by Ryan they are calling me. He said that he was really happy that they called so he could tell them no. It is greatness.
Yea, Chase Daniels. That's the name all of the UT people are throwing around as a guy they could have gotten were it not for Perriloux. Good for Daniels to tell 'em where to shove it. It was naive for UT to think RP was so definite anyway.
I, for one, am so glad RP chose LSU over UT. I know what it's like to live and work in Dallas with a bunch of arrogant Teasippers bragging about their beloved Longhorns. OU has handed them their a$$es over the past few years and now LSU! gives them a piece! Although I'm back in Louisiana, I can still envision their demeanor right now!:hihi: Now, if RP would just shut his mouth and get ready for spring training...
To bad he wont be at Spring Training, he is still in Highschool.. However I agree I live here in Dallas and hearing the class of the UT fan has been humorous, one told me he hopes RP breaks his leg. Now that is class a grown man hoping an 18 year old kid gets hurt.
If we look at things objectivly though, RP did screw over Texas, IMO. He did say a lot that he was still open yet he kept telling Texas and their coaches that he was headed to them. I do, in a small way, feel for the nice Texas fans....the ones wishing injury and such....grow up
When you put all your eggs in one basket, sometimes they all get broken. Mack could've recruited other QBs but CHOSE not to. Contrast this with the Robert Lane/JaMarcus Russell/Matt Flynn scenario. Saban continued recruiting Russell. It eventually cost him Lane. But.....the coach made the call. The interesting thing about all of this to me is that following UT's yearly whuppin' by the sooners in October, many called for OC Greg Davis' head. At the time, RP said that he wasn't coming if they fired Davis. This seemed to calm the masses a bit. I still don't quite understand why grown men get so upset over the decisions of kids. Recruiting always has been a crapshoot, there's just more readily available information now which no doubt in my mind influences some kids to play the recruiting game as long as possible. The kids have never been in this situation before, nor will they again. In this regard, all schools are the same, that is, sometimes you get the bull and sometimes the bull gets you.
IT's not like RP was the only recruit to "back out" of a VERBAL commitment! HELLO, TEXANS!!!! It's A VERBAL. NOTHING binding. Just ask Auburn (and us) about Jerrell Powe's "commitment"....
At least one person in here gets it. I'm not going to start a big argument here, because it's usless when it's 1 v. 1,000, but the guy screwed Texas over. Even two days ago he was "100% Texas". He did not tell the Texas and MSU coaches that he wasn't coming either. I believe that Chris Simms switched with a week or two to go. He did not mislead the fans and coaches for weeks and weeks. He changed his mind and told everyone when he did so. Even Tom Lemming said in a chat today that he has told Perrilloux that he thought he was handling the situation very poorly. People should definitely not be wishing injury on him, but Texas fans have every right to be mad at the guy. As for Texas and Daniel, why should they offer him if Perrilloux is going to keep telling the coaching staff that he's definitely coming to Texas? Do you really think they would sign 3 quarterbacks in one class? Powe may have backed out, but was Powe on Baton Rouge TV and quotes in papers and from Rivals everywhere nonstop saying "I'm 100% LSU, I'm definitely going to LSU no matter what the rumors are."
