Robert Lane did that to us last year, and aside from 1 or 2 people I dont recall anyone calling him trash and hoping he gets hurt and his career ends.. Fact is UT has some fans that have a class issue, or lack therof... Kid wanted to stay home, he enjoyed his ride but when it came down to it he wanted to be a Tiger, we lost players who did the same thing.
I don't think its accurate to judge a teams fan base by what is posted on internet web sites. A few bad apples can make a lot of noise. The Texas fans I met were overall pretty nice.
Most are very nice - but, rest assured, they all have a very deep, secret tendency to turn into HUGE brats when they don't get their way. Wow, they are calling the kid "Perri-loser" on some boards...
Austin's buzzin' over RP. Typical reaction....low class, no class, no integrity, we don't need his kind in our program, etc. They'd be better off just being happy he didn't go to Oklahoma.
I am sure if we dug up a thread or 2 on here back to that point and time you should be able to find very similiar responses from LSU fans about Lane.
Good grief, even the Rivals Writers are ripping RP with their headline "A real man of his word" headline I understand they are mad but show some professionalism.
Lane was actually recruited two years ago when Russel and Flynn were. Nevertheless, I don't believe Tiger fans reacted quite the same way as the Texas fans are reacting to Perrilloux.
Damn right he's where he belongs. Just in the past week, I saw a story on RP in the Houston and Fort Worth papers, both of which had to phonetically spell his name for their readers. No need to do that anymore. If he plays his cards right and plays to his potential, Ryan Perriloux is going to be a legend before he's done in Baton Rouge.
No offense, but you obviously don't live in Texas where a majority of their fans are...you'd be singing a different tune. Arrogance is a state of mind that a majority of them have in common...it is ridiculous.
