Honestly, the Ags should give Art Briles (Univ of Houston) head coach some real consideration. Ags have fallen so far that they won't get a big name coach. With Texas, OU, LSU, TCU and Tx Tech all winning consistently, it's an uphill climb for A&M in the in-state recruiting wars. This is why I think Briles is a good choice. He has deep Texas roots, knows how to recruit both north and southeast Texas, he rebuilt UH football into a decent mid-major program, and he would actually pull A&M football into the 21st century by using (gasp!) something called "the forward pass" while on offense. (Yawn) I've exhausted what little interest I have in Aggie football. That is all...
I floated Art Briles' name to Bama fans when they fired Shula and no body knew who he was. I think he will be a successful head coach at a major program someday. It's amazing what he has done at Cougar High with little support.
