Still no reply from SID but I was thinking about this the other day and I would bet that he's eligible and for the entire 2 seasons after playing the one spring semester.

I was going to try and type out my reasoning but it was too long. Let's just agree that I'm right until further notice from the SID.

I'm not sure I understand the confusion on his eligibility. He'll be a soph next season, then have two years of eligibility remaining after next season. Just because basketball overlaps two different years has nothing to do with it. Eligibility is based on the season, regardless when you play during that season.

The only question I have is when he can play his first game. Can he play after the completion of the fall semester in December '06 or does he have to wait until the spring '07 semester starts?

According to LSU Sports, Terry is eligible "after the fall semester 2006." Much like Tack's situation (not necessarily a transfer, but similarly, academic probation kept him out through fall semester), I would think that sometime in mid to late December, Terry actually could play.

So, the Tigers may have the benefit of Terry Martin Jr's play for the X-mas break as well as part of January prior to the spring semester?

Regardless, Terry Martin has started practice now... can anyone/media get into the practices? I'd love to get a report on how Dameon and Terry look in practice.

I have to think that some of Garrett's improvement has to be his going against Dameon Mason day in and day out in practice...:bball:

so can someone explain how this works? im still rather confused how the ncaa goes about this or is it global for all transfers?

just another reason i hate the ncaa since i can never remember anything because it never makes sense from one situation to the next.

Think of someone who transfers after this basketball season is over. They would be required to sit out one full basketball season until he completed 2 full semesters. They would enroll in school in August '06, complete two full semesters (fall '06 and spring '07) to satisify the one year requirement, then be eligible to play at the beginning of the '07-'08 season.

It's more confusing since Martin transferred in the middle of the season. He'll complete 2 full semesters (spring and fall of '06), thus making him eligible at mid-season.

i think the one year he has to sit out for transfer doesnt take away a year of eligibility necessarily. it would if he transferred in the off season.

    whatever

just watch him play, and shutup about it. my head hurts.
