When are you going to get it? It's not about winning or losing. If we played up to our potential every week, left everything we had on the field, and still lost, then so be it. What most people are upset about is the unimaginative, predictability of the offense. If Les Miles wants to continue running his antiquated, conservative Big 10 offense, even that's ok. But design some running plays show some imagination that no one has seen from us before.

We have a roster full of talent and if we had enough of a passing game to keep defenses honest to where they wouldn't stack the box on every play, we would be an even better team then we have been for the past 3-4 years and we would most likely have AT LEAST one, possibly even more BCS titles. That's what is SO frustrating to most of those criticizing Miles.

And when will you get that an 80% winning coach isn't going anywhere.

And you'll never get that large decisions that shape the face of a program will never be made based off one game. An entire context is looked at and evaluated. Notes are taken with respect to 3 OC's in 3 years. Multiple WR coaches and so on.

However, the dribble so many have spouted recently here would have you believe Miles is an idiot, and while the credit is NOT his for getting Chavis, he will OBVIOUSLY serve no other purpose than to DRIVE our great program into the ground because well, Miles can't count to 10.

When will any of you ever understand that what you are bitching about is nonsense and that the reality is that Miles has made progress and decisions to fix many issues that faced LSU football over the years.

The issue should not be that he's done nothing, because he has.

The issue should be that his OC hire was wrong. He has in fact tried to fix the issue.

Miles has left no INDICATION through his career at LSU that he sees fit to leave the OC in place. IN FACT, it is the most changed out coaching job under his belt. With good reason.

Fanatic I respect you on this board, and I understand your frustration, I'm frustrated with what I see on the offensive side of the ball as well, but.... Les Miles isn't paid to look like Oregon or West Vagina, or hell even Georgia minus whatever that was last week. He is paid to win football games and until we start losing them consistently, nothing is going to change significantly. You still have to take into consideration that if we execute the gameplan on offense, I honestly believe we win that game. Should Miles rethink this and maybe try to find out what it is his team does best and do that, yeah probably, but if we are talking about sound fundamental football, what areas = winning football? Ball protection, other than 2008 and this year, we have been really solid in this category. Great defense, check, save 2008. Establish the run, ok, we know this is something Les definitely wants to do. Control the time of posession. This is an area we have struggled at this season, and last starting in Tuscaloosa, save Oxford. Ok why does this happen, a number of reasons, injuries, dropped passes, turnovers, pentalies that put us way behind the chains. which brings me to the last thing, 3rd down conversions. We have been terrible at this this year. Again, because of dropped passes, injuries to the oline, turnovers (mainly on Mettenberger, but shared as well) and penalties that put us 3rd and double digits.

I don't think we will ever see a flashy offense, I think that if we were healthy and not committing so many penalties, turning the ball over, and dropping passes, we would easily be able to methodically drive the ball down the field 4 to 5 times a game and come away with points, which is generally all we need to secure victories, and that's what Les Miles is paid for, victories.

You're confusing me with someone else. Never said I wanted him too. In fact, I'm on the record as saying that firing him would be a mistake. You're so busy defending him that you don't know who's said what.

I do know what is said.

He has changed multiple coaches in multiple problem areas every year.

Why would he pick this year to do different?

I appreciate it and likewise to you, but go back and look at post 61. I have not once said I wanted us to have an Oregon type offense. In fact, I even stated that I'm perfectly fine with us being a 70s Big 10 offense. All I'd like to see is less predictability and more creativity when designing plays. And by creative, I don't mean innovative or some funky formation has us spread out all over the field.

Look at FU's first TD. They had a split backfield with an unbalanced line to the left. At the snap, the flow of the play was left to the heavy side of the formation, but they countered back to the right and Guillislee (I know I butchered his name) scored easily. In fact he would have scored on that play from 50 yards. That's all I mean when I say 'creative'.

The position of offensive coordinator has had the highest turnover because Les Miles doesn't actually want an offensive coordinator. The duty of offensive coordinator belongs to Les Miles and he will be damned if he lets that power slip from his grasp.

LSU plays down with Les Miles as coach. Les Miles pulls the team down rather than pulling his team up. Plenty of coaches could take this LSU team and win where we now lose a close game. Where we barely win, these coaches would put together a larger margin of victory. Where we get swamped, ie the BAMA game, these coaches would have us in the game and give us an opportunity to win at the end. No, they wouldn't win every game and they shouldn't be expected to. With the current team, two losses would be reasonable. However, this shouldn't be a rebuilding year as many continue calling it. Les Miles' presence is what makes this a so called "rebuilding year". It's a rebuilding year because Les Miles' stubbornness will never allow this team to improve offensively. You keep buying what Les is selling. Les' inferiority is further staling each day.

Les Miles doesn't have the qualities of a leader. A team's coach is supposed to be an asset. Les Miles is a liability, and a huge liability at that. The only way to eliminate that liability is to eliminate Les Miles from LSU.

If he would change then that would work. He will not though. His inability to change is what necessitates a change.
