I agree that it would be a different game, however, we would still be having discussions about playcalling.

Perhaps we would have some, but we'd have converted more than 3 3rd downs--and we'd have won that game in the Swamp and would have won the game @ AU by more than 2 points.

It's just something to consider. I know we wouldn't have a sexy, exciting offense, but we'd have a competant one. Right now, we have an offensive offense.

It would definately help us not look as bad, but those are still MOSTLY short passes they are dropping, i'm talking about the supposed stretching the field that we were supposed to get with mettenberg.

We stretched it for what probably would've been a game-winning score until OBJ fumbled the ball away at the 20.

We should do that more, certainly. But we have to execute first and foremost.

I think that they suffer from Strudrawa's dual jobs. We need a full-time offensive line coach, clearly.

We all get that he "truly" believes this. Him actually believing that there is nothing wrong is the whole problem.

If he "truly" believes that this will get LSU wins against USC, BAMA, and the other tough opponents, then we are in for some excruciating games. Les making four million a year doesn't place him onto an untouchable pedestal.

If Les refuses to change then LSU will inevitably begin to drop off as a top tier program. Please tell me how this will not happen.

I largely disagree. Like others have said, dropped passes have long been a theme at LSU. At the end of the day it is the responsibility of Les Miles to recruit, develop, and utilize a team's talent, whether that's at quarterback, wide receiver, or any other position. The dropped passes could be forgiven it it weren't such a recurring issue over the long term. It's nearly impossible, as we've seen, to eek out any productivity on offense when the offensive players are burdened with having to carry out such predictability on the field.

Take Russell Shepard for instance, he should have really been recruited as an athlete and then switched to wide receiver. What a joke!
Maybe Shepard's abilities as a wide receiver will finally materialize. Maybe his fellow wide receivers will stop dropping passes. I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening. And to be honest, I really don't fault the players at this point.

It baffles me that anyone could think such offensive play calling will ever succeed. I've posted a thread in the past discussing Les Miles' love for playing to lose until they have no other choice.

I agree....sure we will make mistakes on that play.....but we will also get points on that play also.
