We need to look for knowledgable fans not a new OC. Most of you wouldnt know why some plays work and others don't if they hit you in the ass. Most of you dont spend time replaying the games or following recruiting. You have no idea what just having a Darius Guice would have meant to this team this year, just one guy. Or just having a Clapp and a Pettigrew. No we wouldnt have beaten Bama but we would be 9-1 ranked in the top 5 and would have had 1 or 2 more TD's extra per game. Most of this thread sucks. Thankfully there are a few here that back our coach and E who have done something this year I didn't think possible.
can’t I support the team and coaching staff, think Steve is great, and be critical of the offense he runs?
How arrogant are you to think that your God's gift to football and nobody else knows anything? True, I only played in high school and obviously never coached at the D1 level, but I did play on an undefeated state championship team with 2 future NFL'ers and I've been following the game for 45 years so I do know a thing or 2. We get it, you believe E is the most talented offensive mind in the history of the game. Most of us do not, but we're not to the point of shit canning him just yet, but there is concern. If you can't see it, then your love for him has blinded you. Can we just agree to disagree?
This might just be a TF miracle. I might be wrong, but it looks like @shane0911 and @TigerTap have found some common ground.
It’s amazing we even fielded a team on the offensive side of the ball. Inept offensive performance is not so bad considering we had to put 11 nose pickers from the short bus out there and hope the wizard in the tower could keep them from chasing butterflies. A 100+ offense is a minor miracle, there are about twenty or thirty teams that wish they had our offensive numbers. Despite the fact that no one in FBS wanted him when we hired him, we’re going to have to make him the highest paid OC in the nation if we have any hope of keeping all other suitors at bay. OK, OK, I’m back. Wow, it’s weird being in Kiki’s head. Ala Ace Ventura - I would not go in there!!
Not sure if you saw this but I read in an article that Orgeron and the offensive staff had some meeting and were looking at the design of some of our plays. Especially the way we run our screen pass. They said it never works properly and needed to find out why and make some changes. I have been asking for that since the beginning of the year. With bama blitzing like they were a screen pass should have worked but the way we run it we tip it off too soon. They were looking at some of the other plays as well like running short side rather than wide side and things like that. So even Orgeron has some issues with what and how and he is right. That is what he is supposed to do and it doesn't mean he doesn't support E but when things aren't working the way they are supposed too any good coach should look at problems and correct them.
