I’m glad I can at least get a laugh even though you were probably being sarcastic. It’s all good dude. I’m not on the Fire Orgeron train, he has done far better than I expected but the same writing is on the wall at least from this perspective.

And that is how I feel. Ensminger has been Ensminger for 30 years now. How could anyone expect things to be different. Send him home and bring in a real OC and we might have something

It’s just crazy... the one year we hire a name OC we see immediate change. Then we replace him with a diamond in the rough, like rough as hell, and we’re back to the basement. It seems pretty damn obvious.

We have a name DC, he’s killing it.

I mean, sometimes names are over-inflated, but that’s where the judgement of a seasoned CEO HC needs to come in.

I promise, if our offense looks like shit and we lose to ATM, the fan base will be right back to where we were with Miles. Eaux might weather it like Miles for a short time, but if there is no change and the offense looks like a turd next year, Eaux is in trouble. Eaux is playing with fire right now. I’d hate to see him piss away a golden opportunity. It would be a lose/lose if we have to fire Eaux.

I think it is much more problematic than that. In my opinion (which is admittedly certifiably crazy) the LSU offense fails the eye test damn near every time. Les went through a bus load of OC's and now this little two step with Orgeron and it all basically looks the same. Yeah the power I is gone but the product is the same.

It might be time to quit drinking or maybe step it up a notch who knows

What’s the point of having a flashy OC when they aren’t allowed to run their offense. To me that’s why Canada was fired. Not because he is Lane Kiffin off the field (which bothers Orgeron when it’s Canada but not Kiffin, hmmm) but because he wanted to run his offense. These coaches are so fucking stubborn and arrogant that they think it’s not the scheme, it’s the players. If that were the case how come the only teams to beat Alabama in the last 6 or 7 years are teams that spread the ball out and have a qb that can make plays. You aren’t beating Alabama 9-6 anymore. You gotta beat em 41-35 or something like that. Even the most stubborn coach of all time Nick Saban saw the writing on the wall and changed the offense to a spread type offense run with a guy at qb that can throw and run. The blueprint is there. But our coach has his own vision and thinks he can get it done differently. We shall see but we have been down this road before.

I don't know why Canada didn't work out. You would think Ed knew what he was getting when he hired him.

I'm not buying the "they aren't allowed to run their offense " bit. If that is in fact the case there is a good chance we are screwed.

I know you problaby know this, but the difference to O between Kiffin & Canada, was Kiffin was O's boss. Canada wasn't. He is that petty. Plus the Canada's wife thing..added fuel. Kiffin wouldn't have come here to work for O, imo.

So Canada was because he wasn’t an Orgeron hire. He was an Alleva hire. From what I understand Ed never liked him. But hired him and let him do his thing because of Alleva. Ed earned some leeway and then made his change. That offense may have been boring running a jet sweep 100 times a game but it scored 10 more points than Ensminger’s has in half the quarters.

Last year's "dumb, gimmicky" offense gained 50 more yards per game and ranked #54 nationally. It also outgained Alabama, and scored actual points, at their place.

(And wasn't the Troy loss partly a function of O trying to squash Canada's gameplan?)

If I played defense at LSU, I would be so pissed to do my job and then get to rest up for three plays and a punt and run back out there. All game.

Put E out to pasture, find a young guy who can innovate and gain yards, and double his salary to come to Baton Rouge.
