Carter is the fastest person in college football, but Ginn is easily the 2nd fastest. And it probably isn't by as much as you think, Ginn was a track stud in HS too, dunno if he is running at OSU.

Wasn't Ginn mom or some other relation a good runner too? In a big way.Like, to the point of being famous?

my old boss was from cleaveland. his brother's an nfl pro bowler... rather not name any ody specificallly but if you pm me I dont see the harm. anyways, we were talking about ted ginn and he told me his dad recruits big time in ohio, and that it's a lower income school in the city so they get a lot of really good athletes...

they win the state championship almost anually and the big ten is full of people from his school annually.

Nah. Devin Hester is definitely faster than Ginn.

Walter Dix of FSU is probably the fastest NCAA college football player if you're talking 100meters. Wade at UT if a fast mofo as well. Face it, if any player with decent speed gets a couple of steps on a db, it's hard as hell to catch them on the football field. I don't recall ever seeing Michael Clayton getting caught from behind.

marcnbc, you're right. There are several guys that are not going to be caught from behind, but it's the guys that can outrun the DB's who have the angle on them that make the difference. Carter did just that last year vs Moo U and Ginn did it in the Bowl game vs Les' crew when he reversed across the field.

Hester most likely did it on one of his returns for a touchdown, I didn't get to see them.

Ginn was a record breaking hurdler in high school whereas XC was a sprinter. They may have guys out there that are a half step quicker on the field than XC but none that are as powerful over the final strides. Tripling in the 100, 200 and 400 shows freakish ability and incredible strength/endurance.

I'm sure you can quanify how much faster a guy like X-man is over another player...But as fast as Carter is, we're still only talking about like .02 seconds faster on the 40 time...
