I choose to raise my child with traditional Christian values. The decay of morals in the united states championed by the far left disturbs me greatly. I find it awful that my son has to have this exposed to him. In my opinion the collapse of the family in America will be it's undoing. I resent the fact that I have little choice but to either home school my child or send him to an expensive private school in order to shield him from immorality that i find offensive to me and are in direct conflict to my beliefs. This is the main reason that I can not support a democrat ever.

i dont think the schools plan to teach your kid to be gay. just teaching about sex isnt really immoral.

Teaching about reproduction in biology class is expected in class. Teaching anything other than the nuts and bolts of human reproduction should be done by parents at home. I do not want someone that may not share my moral beliefs on the subject teaching my kid what they feel is appropriate for him to learn at a very young age.

what if kids start asking questions in class? what if a kid asks if gays can reproduce and if not, why? pull the fire alarm and run? seems silly to make everything forbidden and dirty, that just makes kids more curious. none of it is a big deal really, kids are not corrupted by hearing it. remember the stuff you talked about with your homeez back then?

That's fine with me, but we were talking about education in the public schools.

You seem to expect that public schools should conform to your religious concepts. You are about two centuries behind the curve regarding separation of church and state. Plus, "shielding" your children from what they are surely going to experience in the 21st century is not doing them a favor.

Do you seriously believe that there are no religious democrats?

Perhaps, but they should have already done so before children reach puberty and serious biology classes.

Then you must home-school. For every parent like you there is another parent who does not want his child to be denied any education because of your religious beliefs.

There are two sides to every coin. These things can be discused in school. I feel high school would be that place not cartoons to elementary school kids. Hell my boy is in first grade and still believes in Santa clause and the tooth fairy. Introducing him to sexual acts are not welcome to me at his age. We discuss birth with him. As an example we are teaching him by using our pregnant cat as the example. We teach him how the cat will giv birth etc. We have not gotten to the how this started point. It's up to us to decide how we introduce this not the state.

There is a huge diffrence between teaching a child about human reproduction and teaching sexual acts for pleasure or about homosexual sexual acts. One doesn't have to be taught to understand the other. I was taught sex Ed in pe while in 8 th grade. We went over STD 's and condoms. We didn't get into sexual acts and homosexual sex and the such. We did get taught the importance of safe sex. I feel it was conducted in a moral and professional manner and would not object to my son taking the same class. Elementary school is too early for this IMO.

I don't want this to sound like I am dicriminating aginst gays. I feel the goverment has no right to tell someone who they can love or to whom they can marry. Gays that marry should get the same rights as any other married couple. I would rather that the sexual acts not be taught to preteen children such as mine. On the other hand tollerence must be taught to all kids. Tollerence towards all colors, faiths , creeds and sexual orentation is essential to being American
