nahh, Vick wont last 7 years in the NFL. he's going to be hurt constantly. passing for 100 yards a game isnt going to get it done in the NFL. i dont care how many "flashy" running plays you make...its not going to cut it game after game....season after season.

super bowls are a team accomplishment....you cant use that gauge a single players ability....especially with free agencey/parity

once again....ill take a drop back passer like Manning, Favre, Elway, Marino...etc over the scrambling types like Vick and Mcnabb....

Manning will have more wins and more years in the NFL than Vick....watch and see

    Ummm...no you didn't...

First and foremost...a quote from last Thursday's NFL Films Presents on ESPN...

"I was a great quarterback, but winning the SuperBowl MADE me..."-John Elway...

As for your saying "you got me"...No you didn't...

If you think Elway was leading those teams, you're dreaming. He was the Wizard of Oz...telling little Dorothy-or in this case-Sourdoughman, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

Dude...Terrell Davis was the ENGINE behind those Super Bowl runs...You telling me that ELWAY won his way to those?

    Gimme a break...

    Sorry...Next?

Oh yeah...Someone tell FightnTIGER that he's been on my ignore list for a WHILE now...I can't see his posts when he replies to me, so it doesn't make much sense to attempt to reply or interject...

    ;-)

    Eleven...Passing for 160 is okay...when you RUSH for 165...

I do agree that his TENURE in the NFL might be shorter than say a Manning or a McNabb, but his impact is obvious...

You had Green Bay literally mowed over. The Saints spent their free agent money and their acquisitions on designing a defense (That broke down injury-wise) that could stop Michael Vick. You don't believe me? Ask Jim Haslett. He literally said that in the Advocate leading up to the year.

A common thread running behind all these quarterbacks is one thing...STELLAR RUNNING BACK PLAY!

Manning? What did he do when Edgerrin James was out with his knee injuries and back injuries? Not much...Now, James is running, and Manning and his amazing playaction fake are tearing people up.

Favre? Well, he had Dorsey Levens and Edgar Bennet. What has he done without a good running back? Ahmon Green came up from Nebraska, and now suddenly Green Bay's a "contendah" again? Well, what do you know...Seems like a pattern, eh?

Elway never did SHYT without Terrell Davis...and wasn't GOING to do SHYT at 37 and 38 without him...Anyone care to disagree?

Marino...What the HELL did Marino EVER do?

People can say that he had nothing around him, but when you always refuse to rework your huge contract in the free agent era, then it's just too sad, too bad. Shula might shoulder some blame, too, wasting Marino's good years with his bad ones...But, the bottom line is that NONE of these quarterbacks has done SHYT w/o a good runnnig back...

    EXCEPT FOR VICK....

    ........................................................................................................

So, What was your point with Dan Marino then?

According to your logic Dan Marino didn't have an engine

He and John Elway both made it to superbowls and lost because
    they didn't have an engine.

John Elway made it at least twice as I recall by himself.

I think Vick is a good player but this year is only a sign of things
    to come.

Theres no way he can play in the pros like he did in college, running the ball the way he does.

The schedule is too grueling and too hard on the human bodyl

He will have to become more of a pocket passer if he wants to
play in the pros for long anyway.

    btw

I don't think you've been fair to Payton Manning, he has many
more years left in the NFL before you can judge him for not having
    a Superbowl ring.

    I do...............

He did a hell of a lot more than most QB's in the nfl

have you ever heard of the drive?

He led the broncos to numerous AFC Championship wins and
2 or 3 Superbowl appearances by himself.

According to your logic, that aint Shyt?
