As a Southern Miss grad who grew up in Baton Rouge and always a Tiger fan, I cannot impress to you enough how much QB Dustin Almond has improved. This kid was TERRIBLE until after the Alabama loss, which put the team at 3-3. Then the offensive coordinator had a daily one-on-one with him during the ensuing bye week. They basically readjusted this kid's entire psychi and you see the results tonight. It is just amazing the difference between how he played the first half of the season and how he is playing tonight. Not to harp too much on Southern Miss with my biased opinion, but they are an example of what a mediocre team can do when it believes in itself. That said we got an entire second half to go. Go USM. A win by USM definitely helps LSU because TCU is ahead of LSU in 3 of the 7 BCS computer polls. GEAUX GOLDEN EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just checked, TCU is ahead of USC in only one poll, with LSU still behind both TCU and USC, so a TCU loss can do nothing but help
The question is now how far will TCU fall in the rankings? They will have to be in the 20s if they don't fall completely out.
