So wait a minute, they captured a soldier that put his weapon down and walked into an enemy camp on purpose?

I am not sure, hell no one is. If its this Bergdahl fella it is awful murky. Lots of conflicting reports. What is known is that his rifle and all of his gear were left ON THE BASE and he "alledgedly" walked away from the safety of his camp and is now in enemy hands. You will have to formulate your own opinion on the rest. The pentagon isn't going to give you much else on this one.

Well, being that i am not a soldier, i won't speculate about what this guy was doing, or did.

And that is exactly what most of this is at this point. From what I have read everything is pointing to this guy just leaving the confines of whatever base/area that his unit was occuping. I for one can't come up with a good reason for him being gone and his weapon and body armor being accounted for at the unit. Maybe he just went insane, perhaps suicidal, I just don't know. From what I understand there was no evidence of a struggle, and he was not on any kind of official mission when he went poof. I can tell you this, if those rat bastards were to try and take me they will find lots of expended cartridges, blood, piss, guts, hair, teeth and who knows what else. I'm not bold enough to say they could never get me, but they aint getting me without a fight.

Without his weapon? Cardboard box..., check. TP..., check. Rifle and ammo..., check.

No one would wander off without their weapon.

I guess since this whole thread is about speculation and moreso of how this soldier is in the wrong. How about thinking from a different angle.

What if he is suffering from some sort of mental problem. Maybe he saw or did something that really put him into depression or delusion. Maybe he thought about suicide like a rising number of our troops are drawn to and this was his way.

Who the F knows and I think it's rather amusing that some of you are throwing this man under the bus for something you know no facts about. It's actually pretty tasteless.

Maybe we can insure 50 million more people without adding doctors and still spend less money.

You are assuming those 50 million more insured people will use the doctor more than they do now right... Details my friend or lack-of is a huge problem with your comment and on this thread.

You will see grasshoppa that said the very same thing that you did. I'm just saying that there is something fishy to this story. I've seen a lot of people that were ready to climb the highest tower around with a rifle and a bag of cheese sandwiches and none of them, not a single swinging richard was ready to walk out into raghead land sans their lead slinger. Unless of course....
