that is correct. meniscus is not at all like the ACL, which i have also had repaired. a small meniscus repair could be a relatively small scale surgery. the acl and mcl are ligaments, they are like rubber bands that if you break it is a big deal to fix. the meniscus is the cartilage that stabilzes and pads the joint. you could recover from meniscus repair much faster.

i wouldnt be suprised if tack is back within a month, but then again it could be a bad tear and his season could be over.

either way it sucks ass because even if he returns he will have so little time with his team that i would guess it would limit his effectiveness.

    sucks.

That's a whole different ball game and if it is a complete tear would mean done for the season, but the article says "torn meniscus".

This sucks for a PG. I've torn both acl's and then tore the left acl again a few years later. That's 3 acl tears within 5 years.........

I hope he can get a medical redshirt.....

right, but again, tack hasnt torn a ligament. his injury is not like an ACL or MCL tear.

I hope you're right. The local media is reporting it as a mcl tear.....

the lsusports.net article says it is a meniscus, which is not the MCL. the MCL is a medial collateral ligament. very different.

over time you have proven to be less reliable than lsusports.net, so i iwll listen to them.

WBRZ just reported his recovery time is expected to be 3 to 4 weeks. Also said LSU is seeing if he can get a medical redshirt in which case they may decide to sit him out for the remainder of the year once he returns form the injury.

that to me makes no sense at all if he can play in February and March... because we do potentially have a good team THIS year if we can get a decent PG...

But being that it is the same team next year, I guess I can see their point
