I just don't think Hawkins is that much better than Bennie. Yeah we've had drops--but the players that have dropped balls are still better than Hawkins (who was rated below BOTH X-man and Early coming out of high school). So, no, I don't see him contributing any more than Bennie and certainly no more than Early, Bowe, Davis and Skyler.
You're right, MLUTiger. Hawkins did not get in the game on 2 of Cal's 8 games. Was held without a reception on two other accounts and was nothing special in every other game except the game in which he caught the TD. Checked Cal's website, and they don't list "drops"...so I can't say how much/many times he dropped passes....
