But Early came down with the catch. and in '03 Skyler came down with the catch (vs UGA) ....I'm not going to worry about Lavelle Hawkins when we have WR's perfectly capable right here. Not a knock on Hawkins, but I understand his position of coming here and realizing he was home-sick and leaving because of that, not because of playing time (Amp Hill) or perceived lack-there-of.
If you go by what Deek quoted, you'd think Hawkins is a clutch guy for Cal. However, he is only seeing playing time becuase Cal's top two starting receivers are injured. He did not go there and suddenly wow the coaches and start.
On the year: Lavelle Hawkins has 13 catches for 151 yards and 1 TD. Those numbers would put him 5th on our team in receptions, 5th in yards and tied for 3rd with Bennie in TD receptions. Bottom line is that he's only 1 reception ahead of Buster Davis (who's missed a lot of playing time due to injury in previous games), a mere 32 receiving yards more than our RUNNING BACK (Addai), and no more TD's than what amounts to our #4 WR (Bennie). Thanks but no thanks....I'll stick to who we have in Baton Rouge.
Saban fan or whatever, Nice pic of yourself in the sig. :thumb: So what your saying is, that anone who posts here without paying is a freeloader? Is that correct? I was, and still may, give a contribution to this site but your comments... Sometimes it takes just one jackleg like you to sour it up for everyone. Your always thoughtful comments are a nice addition to the site. Also, next time any of us need your lip, we'll just scrape our zippers. Cheers! ldskule:
You don't think he'd be able to contribute given the performance of what we have thus far? I just wish the quitters had stayed so we could get the best players on the field. With all of the drops so far, I'm not sure we have that right now.
There may be reasons to hold a grudge against a guy for transferring, but I can't really blame a kid too much if he's homesick. Of course, I would understand this more than many do. I live in Texas now.
So you're basing the performance of our receivers on two drops in one game to Hawkin's one catch in one game? How do you know that Hawkins hasn't dropped several passes? By the text you posted, you don't. Doucet already has caught one clutch pass this year and Bowe had a couple in the game he's being demonized in. No receiver catches everything thrown his way unless you're talking in drills when there's no pressure. Get a grip... Just based on the sheer numbers and takent on the LSU coprs, Hawkins might not have even been in the game...
