Call it whatever you like, Jim Croce is one of my absolute favorites !!!!!! "She's living in LA, with my best old ex-friend Ray. A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated ." What a classic line from Operator!!! Sadly, he died in Louisina.

Thanks for the find! Was too lazy to look myself. Saw him a few times in concert, have all the albums. Something about many of his songs that people can really relate to.

the story behind it is nothing short of amazing.

was booked to play at Northwestern St. for very little money.
for some reason, the show got cancelled, but he promised he would make it up at a later date.
In the mean time, he made a bigger name for himself.
NSU told him they understood if he didn't come back and do the show.

But jim was a man of his word, and went back to play the concert at the original fee agreed upon.

His plane crahed only a few hours after he finished playing tht concert

I don't remember the exact details, but it was on a VH1 behind the music type show a few years back.

Wasn't really a well known issue. He just kinda quietly agreed to do the show as he promised. And didn't consider it a big deal that he was doing it.
