    wasn't she just a secretary for a producer or something?
    or maybee just a name he'd heard? I remember reading that Bobby was a real person, just pretty much a nobody with nothing to do with the song other than her name fit.

    Fred Foster wrote the song in conjunction with Kris Kristofferson. Later recorded by Janis it released at #1 after her death. Second time in history a song released after an artist death, the first was "dock of the bay" from Otis Reading.
