without taking my money in the form of subsidies. i have never understood the phrase "go figure". but you do recall favoring stealing my money to fund your favorite industries.
sure, whatever i am stupid. that is why i need you to stop favoring the government taking my money for your stupd farming friends. i know i cannot admit anything, and everyone hates me, that is why i need to save every dollar i earn, so i dont need you taking it for your farming friends. good, you look that over, and you will see that farm subsidies are another way for big government to steal money from the common man for bigg lobbyists like the farming industry.
and that seems to sum up our difference of opinion on the issue. you think of farmers as giant corporations getting rich off consumer dollars and tax dollars. although many of those exist, the farmers i know operate much smaller family farms and aren't getting rich off anyone. they hardly receive any subsidies at all. they struggle to make ends meet on a yearly basis, and they'd love to see subsidy reform as much as the next person. anyway, i know you don't care anything about that, so, moving along; sorry to see you get so upset over the issue. to show i'm not such a bad guy and i don't really hate you, i'd like to personally thank you for all those thousands of dollars in subsidies you paid this year which allowed me to eat breakfast for oh, around $.50 this morning, give or take a penny or two.
while you're at it, you should thank me for my tax dollars which fund a government that caves to the most powerful lobbysists of all, the pharmaceutical industry and helps keep their profit margins booming. kind of ironic you touted this group earlier in the thread as being the solution to lost manufacturing jobs. then again, maybe everyone's view of fiscal responsibility only runs so deep, depending on what area of the country you happen to be in.
i never said any industry should get anything from the government, if pharmaceutical companies get subsidies that is terrible, and i never said otherwise. dont put words in my mouth. you are the one who favors government intervention in the economy, not me. yes, if you put words in my mouth i could favor whatever you like for whatever reason you like. i see you can no longer be rational about this, because i have explained it so many times and you have nothing. and i am sure any casual readers of this thread have been convincved i am right anyways, so that is all for me.
actually, i've got a lot more, but since you keep regurgitating the same thing over and over again and seem to have become frustrated with the whole process, that willl be all for me as well.
go figure means take a hike and re-think your position. it's not your money, you owe it in taxes, the goverment doesn't arbitraility reduce your tax burden based on how the farmers do in a year. Your tax burden is dictated by politicians and what your income is. You want less tax burden? get a low paying job. like the factory workers whose job you'd like to see go overseas. You owe the taxes and you will pay them LOL it's your burden for living here. I hate high taxes but something inside me makes me grin when I think of you paying taxes. :hihi:
based on the fact that neither is true, I'd say it was rude and off target. what is really ironic is you claiming to distinguish logic. when pigs fly. :dis:
thats not a an attitude i would expect you would take. i think everyone should have a lower tax burden. i believe that when taxes and government restrict capitalism, they directly slow progress. i believe that if we had a less restrictive system, we would be many years ahead in technology and standard of living than we are now. and protectionism and subsidies have a terrible effect on people all over the world. i would like to see people be free to do whatever they want and not be burdened by tax and spend big government policy that takes from some in order to give to others. i believe the role of the government is to enforce contracts and maintain order. most other tasks taken upon by the government to manipulate the people are counterproductive, because when you take choice away from individuals, you get inefficiency and advancement slows. you guys remind me of the scoundrels i see in new york protesting evil globalization. people who are afraid of capitalism and freedom. specialization = efficiency. some tasks are performed here, others there. it is the simplest concept. allow it to happen, or decrease wealth for millions.
