Don't know for sure, but it could very well be. I've mentioned before that I have a friend that's one of the trainers at Boston College. Well, BC players are REQUIRED to wear ankle braces (mainly because they play on astro turf) and all LINEMEN are required to wear knee braces (though, not all of the linemen do this--but I know they all must wear ankle braces).
They also have a lot of pictures at lsusports.net, but most of them aren't practice pictures. They're off the field pictures, but they're interesting.
