I think he's a typical politician running for office.

MM said earlier he didn't see my point.I think the point everyone is missing is that this is not a typical bailout. AIG will survive thanks to the loan and the money is not going into a black hole. It's secured and will be repaid with interest. I understand that my perspective is as one with a personal stake in the outcome. What have I learned? Get the facts before criticizing. I've been as guilty as anyone of that.

not me brother. if bailout is used to describe this, then it should not be used for the S&L crisis.

If it makes you feel better, call it a loan.

Your welfare check will still be there on the 3rd.

    Deregulate, Deregulate, Deregulate, right Sabanfan?

This is what happens when you let business run amock with no oversight.

How is this not the dreaded "socialism" we always here around here? Oh, I guess when you bail big business and corprate hotshots, it's not socialism, it's only when some poor clown gets 50 dollars in foodstamps and 250 a week in unemployment that it's socialism.

What is it "secure" with. Stake in a company worth $2 a share that can't get a loan in the real world?

The stock is at $2.00 a share because Wall Street is a bunch of nervous ninnies. With the loan, the Company remains viable and sound with a Trillion dollars in assets and sufficient capital on the Commercial Insurance side to more than fulfill it's obligations. Also the Insurance side of AIG continues to be profitable.

I can't make it any clearer than that.

The new CEO has a sharp hatchet and AIG will be a much smaller company, but it will still be a formidable source in the industry. If I survive, great. If I'm a victim, I'll find something else to do.

What exactly did you make clear that AIG shouldn't be in business? Oh wait a side of the company is profitable and they have some assetts so it should right? Remember without the loan from the Fin GOVT they are nothing! Where are the ninnies now?

Also you never answered where the FED is getting this 80 billion from? Maybe they can just print it from thin air as usual and de-value the currency some more ehh?

You really shouldn't ramble on about something you are so obviously clueless about.

I have no idea. I guess the same place the money comes from to support millions of illegal immigrants and lazy bums who don't want to work.

I bet it's the same place they get the money to pay for all the HIV medication given out in Africa...and it's probably the same place they get the funds to send out millions of dollars each month in SSI checks.
