I guess you are inferring that this was huge waste of time...perhaps.
But I believe it was Martin or SabanFan (in a related thread) who said something about making them feel like jerks so that they will self-regulate.
Is that a realistic expectation?
Perhaps only for those students who realize one or more of the following:
A) I'm not the center of the universe (or tiger stadium)
B) I'm not a mindless lemming or sheep (i.e. must do what crowd do)
C) Screaming F.U. in unison is about as clever as a group of 5-year olds chanting "poo-poo - pee pee"
D) Someone’s family is being forced to hear this (like CLM’s wife and little kids)
E) It doesn’t happen everywhere – at least not to the degree we took it last Saturday
F) We’re losing out on great band traditions
G) If we keep it up, eventually my team could be penalized
H) Marshalls might start cracking down on alcohol - Ouch!
I) If I can get drunk and not drive - then I can handle this
J) We are selfishly diverting attention away from our football team
K) This sort of thing only validates all of the worst in rumors and reputation about LSU fans (piss bombs, etc.)
L) I’m better than this
M) All of the above
