I can say in conclusion that all the BCS has done for me is caused me to scratch my head and shrug my shoulders a bit too much. I have decided to exclude it from my thoughts and focus on enjoying what is one of the best seasons in LSU football history.

Very well put! I've found myself trying to decipher this neverending formula of ridiculously "unfootball" statistics since Saturday all the while becoming more and more upset about the lack of respect we've received. Therefore, fully in agreement with your post, I too will step forward toward Tuscaloosa leaving behind a big brown pile of BCS BS!

SMU would be better than WIU because we get ZERO for WIU no matter the number of games they win. If SMU wins just a couple games it helps. It's all relative to the number of games your opponents win. And our SOS being 63 I beleive is the ranking. With their formula we have the 63rd most difficult schedule.

Actually, SMU would hurt us more with strength of schedule. Let's say SMU is 2-8, and WIU doesn't count. If we are at 34-34 or something, we get pulled down to 36-42 instead of staying 34-34. It's winning percentage that counts, not number of wins.

And on a side note, I think we actually are at 1-0 SOS bonus with Western Illinois because they beat Eastern Michigan (which is a I-A school). I would have to check that.
