No the offsetting was a big penalty. They had 3 unsportsmanlikes then the refs made up one for us to offset them.
Many years ago someone said that if the refs wanted to call holding on every play they could. Is that what you want? Go for it. The games will be come unwatchable. Yeah, there were one or two plays where I thought a flag should have been thrown. Many years ago someone also said that missed penalties even out over time. I'll buy that theory.
The short answer is and was, we hardly get every call. Many on here have mentioned important missed calls that cost us a turnover and a TD. The LSU receiver who pulled Averette's arm down to keep him from intercepting. The ref staring directly at it didn't help my attitude at the time. The illegal motion on the goal line by #71, Piersbacher was replayed twice by CBS, he didn't move or flinch all 3 times and we settled for a field goal. Going on memory, but I recall reading Alabama got twice as many penalties called on them as LSU. That's been the story of our life this football season. We have our nastiest rushing defense in memory and we are dominating every OL we play. Where are the holding calls? I see our guys jerked down, jersey's pulled, no calls. Hey LaSalle, check out #3 of ole miss?
That's an ole miss. Are you denying that that all those things that have been mentioned happened? I can live with the first half, the refs swallowed their whistles and let them play, that's what should happen. But a blatant hold on Lewis Neal right in front of an official, a late hit out of bounds that wasn't, all of these things kept Bama's offense on the field and lead to that touchdown. I'm not saying these calls were the game, but damn man every other team in the country sees this shit week in and week out except you guys apparently. At some point it starts to seem more than coincidence. Which its probably not, just a bunch of fucking idiots who shouldn't be in that job, but the SEC should be embarrassed by their officials.
We didn't lose the game because of missed/bad calls on a couple of plays. We lost the game because we got beat at the line of scrimmage on almost every play.
Why would I deny the refs screw up a game by the numbers? I just said it. I'm just not going to dismiss the talent on the LSU team to suggest the refs were by far our biggest problem. Are you? And LaSalle you had 25 total yards in the second half. What exactly did the refs keep you from accomplishing?
You can say that all you want, but you're only half right. It's true, that we did get dominated at the LOS, but you're only fooling yourself if you don't think those calls/no calls did not impact the game. The biggest one was the multiple holds on Hurts TD that were not called. Even if they don't score a TD there, we still probably lose either 3-0 or 6-0 if they kick a FG on that drive. It's like someone else said, they're good enough to beat us without the help of the zebras. That's why it's so frustrating because it seems like every single year, there's a call/no call that goes against us that helps them in the biggest moment of the game. Why is that?
I was optimistic about this game. The energy, the desire, etc. But the better team won last night. Still doesn't sit well today, but it is what it is. 10-0 is still better then watching the Bama defense score TD's and blowing us out 49-10. LSU did something last night that no one in the Country has been able to do all season. Bama was held to season low O totals, scored only 10 points, and didn't score on Defense or ST's.
I said nothing. I have said over and over if this game is called right down the middle Alabama still wins. Has nothing to do with the outcome. It just gets old seeing this shit show by the zebras everytime that Crimson team with the numbers on their helmets are on the field.
