Steltz and David Jones will give way to Shawn Jordan and Jacob Hester at FB

I want to see the JUCOs in action before we start talking about good they are. I am sure they are studs but we havent exactly had great success with them. Donaldson was a pretty good one, but the only one I can think of. Torran Rob was supposed to be a stud and he never saw the field.

It is fun to speculate, and we SO loaded everywhere it is so hard to say who will push for playing time.

Does any one know if west is going to stay at DE or move to LB?

Remember last year when Hollis was going to come and start at MLB. He never saw the field. We first should wait and see if these JC players can learn the defense. I think the depth at all positions is where we don’t have to have the JC player come in and contribute a lot their first year, but I could be wrong.

I don't think Hollis had a chance at starting at MLB. Turner had been quite good even then

If Mauk Comes back, what do ya'll think the chances of him losing the #1 spot to russell. That may be a reason for him to forgo his last year. Just a thought.

I say very slim chance that Mauck loses his spot to Russell or Flynn. Mauck is not a great QB, but he is solid and doesn't make too many costly mistakes. The idea of putting a redshirt freshmen on the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium in only his 3rd start is probably going to be a nightmare for us. Guess where he gets to play 2 weeks later? Between the hedges at Georgia. I really do hope Mauck comes back so we can develop the freshmen QB's in mop-up roles and against some of our weaker OOC opponents.

    3rd Start

I'm not too worried about visiting Jordan-Hare next year. 2 of their 3 LB's are gone, I believe 2 or 3 of the 4 DL's are gone and their DB's were no better that a High School team.

Word is Brandon Jacobs will be playing LB and Tre Smith moving to safety for the War Chickens.

If you think about it, Matt did more than lead this team to the NC. His leadership and performance saved eligibility for the two freshmen QB's. We can’t place a value on that.

If we are fortunate enough to get Xavier Carter, who according to Dandy Don may commit by the end of this week along with Doucet, I would expect that he redshirts next year. He has said he wants to try to qualify for the olympic team.

Here's a little background info on Xavier Carter
