"New Years Day," "Bloody Sunday," and "Vertigo" are the only U2 songs I can stand. And Bono is the most self-important, pompous ass in music. Probably ever.
Never judge a band by its hit singles, they all get saturation airplay until we are tired of them. Even the Beatles and Stones hit singles have become tiresome. Fortunately their entire catalog still stands the test of time. Springsteen, The Police, even Elton John have made some very good albums despite the fact that their hit singles suffer from overuse. But U-2 is easily the most overrated band in the history of Rock. With the possible exception of Oasis.

U2 is my husband's favorite band, to the point that his phone contains every f'n song they've ever recorded. It makes for some discomfort on road trips--but my girls don't like it either, so that helps. A few years ago, I found myself in a van with a bunch of sheeple headed to the U2 concert at JerryWorld. My husband announced to everyone, "She doesn't even like U2." You would've thought I had killed a puppy or something. It didn't bother me. I readily voulunteered, "Yeah, I hate them. I'm only going to the concert to see the new stadium."
Born in the USA, The Boss's most misunderstood song https://music.yahoo.com/blogs/music...-misunderstood-anthem-turns-30-005115280.html
I stand by my assertion that Springsteen is a huge dbag. And he sounded doubly constipated for that whole, stinkin' song.
Found a very close 2nd. Saw John Mayer on Palladia and whew, you'd swear he was getting ass raped by a silver back gorilla. Still nothing like Bruce though.
