I wouldn't fret over it too much, it's all a bunch of mumble jumble. If you want to compare your age against a prior generation, go way back. Compared to a caveman you would have amassed the knowledge and life experiences of a 1000 year old+ shamanesque being. While in reality you probably would have been dead 15 years or so. The new 44 sure isn't the old 44 and it won't be the same as the next 44.
