There is a difference between an offer and an opportunity. Opportunities come less often, and they are usually taken.
Don't agree with this. He is a good O.C., but that doesn't necessarily mean he is the best candidate to replace Miles. Plus that coach-in-waiting shit is a terrible idea to begin with, imo
Yes it does, but don't think it never works. Not many get the offer. Thats two that hit close to home. I knew Jimbo would do well, so did most coaches I know. Go back an check Muschamp's resume. Jimbo has always been involved with the Bowden family. A great pick.
It took Jimbo a long time to get FSU winning again. I would argue that the Coach-in-Waiting philosophy had no affect. He took over in 2010 and he's producing the desired results four years later. They could have just as easily hired him from another school.
Cam will surely be contacted constantly about other positions and only he and Les likely know if anything has been lined up for the future. But I doubt because I don't think Miles is close to wanting to retire. But let's not fret about the future but rather embrace what we have now. I like that we have two outstanding coordinators and a hc that obviously gets along great with them. And like Dad has said, CAM has an entire offseason to work with 3 talented qb's, so I believe one will emerge and become a top notch qb. Also Dad you were right on with your comments about McGee. CCC saw the talent, work ethic, etc and moved him back to RB even though it looked like he would be 4th in line. Great decision!
It wasn't just about getting another coach, Bowden and FSU wanted someone who would fit into what Bobby has built over the past two plus decades. We've all seen the misses that schools like UM, WVU, The U, Auburn, LSU even Bama have made over the years. Jumbo was the perfect choice at FSU for a bunch of reasons.
Bullshit. Three, ten win seasons out of four. A feat that Bowden accomplished once in his last ten seasons. So, what? There is absolutely no way to prove it, just as there is no way to prove you wrong. It took four years to grab the brass ring and that feat is above and beyond what FSU desired from a coach. That's easier said than done
