It may not only be Quinn's agent that has him making the rounds, it could be some of his endorsement contracts. On the fox show, he was wearing his EA Sports logo shirt, and mentioned them several times. Whether he ends up making it in the NFL or not, he has already been thrown into the endorsement game head first. It appears he's doing really well there. I know that I've said this before, and I know I am biased, but I haven't had a problem with anything he's said. He doesn't come off as whining to me, just answering the question the way he feels best. In the end, no one will know how it flies w/ his future team when he first arrives. The final opinion will have more to do with his results on the field, which again, no one knows how that will end up.
I don't know about you guys but I am sick and tired of hearing how JR had to beat out a "so-so" QB for the starting job, blah, blah, blah. He was coming off of a frickin' injury and it's not like he was battling some pushover, walk-on QBs. Flynn is NOT just a "so-so" QB. And RP, though young, is still talented enough to vie for a starting role. As far as I'm concerned, I'd take Flynn over Quinn. Hell, at least MF can win a bowl game. Which of course is an understatement seeing how he thrashed Miami. :angryfire o: :angryfire I keep hearing all of this talk about how it's easier to see how a QB will pan out if they started more games in college. Uhmmm, okay. Whatever. Considering that JR has probably played (and beaten) more top 25 teams in his "limited action" than BQ has during his entire tenure at ND, I think that is just a whiner trying to create an imaginary edge over the obviously better QB Russell. You know what? Does it really matter anyway? If JR goes first or tenth, it doesn't really matter. I'd rather see him go to a team where he's best compatible. We can all look back in a couple of seasons and it won't matter. JR's performance will have spoken for itself. Even though I am an "LSU guy," I'm no homer. I've seen BQ play probably more times than any other college QB--well outside of the SEC--and he really doesn't impress me. He does NOTHING spectacular. He's a mediocre QB in my opinion. Comparisons to Peyton or Tom Brady are WAY too premature...My rant's over.
You've got to be kiddin' me! I usually won't take jabbs at opposing teams' fans, but I probably should this time. Maybe being around ND fans, you're used to this type of "media relationship." Call it what you will, it's whining all the same. :angryfire As far as I'm concerned, a QB doesn't belong on Good Morning America or other such shows like it's becoming trendy to do so. It's the main reason I can't stand Tom Brady. Give me a good ole' fashioned QB like Favre, Elway, Peyton, etc any day of the week. This ain't no soap-opera, it's a football game, c'est vrai, non?
Brady Quinn is a cry baby, and his contant whining and self-pimping smacks of insecurity. Really, if I were trying to decide between JR and BQ, his behavior lately wouldn't be a point in his favor. He may think it comes across as confidence, but the more he goes on, he just sounds more and more petulant and emotional...not necessarily the kind of personality I'd want leading my team in future.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/10151555 I'm sure the guy that wrote this article is a big Irish fan, but I decided to post it anyway. It's just an example of someone else that has gotten the same impression from Quinn's statements and actions that I have. I certainly welcome the opportunity to read an article (from someone outside of Baton Rouge) that has a scout or some media outlet complaining about Quinn's attitude and/or statements. I know some of you will really enjoy the reading. I just can't wait until this draft is over.
Wow. You sound like you aren't going to enjoy this draft. I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a draft. Maybe it's because our guy is gonna kick your guys a$$. :hihi: Again.
Maybe that is what I don't get about this. I never realized this was an our guy/your guy debate. That was more the line that bitter followed. I wouldn't go so far to say that I'm not going to enjoy the draft. And I wouldn't say that I'm excited about it. It's not anything I plan to watch. My comment was based more on the fact that I want to see how it plays out. I'm even more curious of how the season works out for them.
I was just messing with ya. I'm eager to see how it works out too. But make no mistake that JR is OUR guy. He always will be.
actually, it seems to me that bbq himself turned this into just such a debate with his endless media antics and trying to convince the world/himself that he is better than jr.
