Which is to attack what you do best. Explains all those men in the box. As ND and others found out in the big ones, easier said then done. With Bama's receivers and AJ at the control, it might be better to hope for rain.

Well, it's a good thing we're playing in BDS, 'cause it never rains in Tiger Stadium!

    ???

ND has one of the tougher schedules in the country...

    -@Stanford,

    -@Michigan,

    -Oklahoma,

    -Southern Cal,

-Michigan State (projected #1 OL in Big Ten, returns D that was #4/#9 in the nation last year, and is expected to be the best in the Big Ten by far, projected #1 DL in Big Ten, #1 LB corps in Big Ten, and #1 secondary in Big Ten),

-Arizona State in Dallas (projected to be the most talented team in the Pac behind Oregon, Stanford, and USC, including the #1 DL in the Pac, anchored by Will Sutton, arguably the best DT in the nation and in the upcoming draft...last year ASU was #2 in the nation in sacks, #2 in the nation in TFL, and both the #2 defense and the #2 offense in the Pac 12)

-BYU (returns D that was #3/#3 in the nation last year, their OLB Kyle Van Noy is arguably the best OLB in the nation and in the upcoming draft)

Now compare that to teams with weak schedules like:

-Bama (aTm, LSU, Ole miss, Arkansas, Miss St, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, VT and cupcakes)

-Oregon (Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, Washington, Cal, Oregon State, Washington State, Utah, Colorado, Virginia, Tennessee)

-Florida State (Florida, Clemson, Pitt, Nevada, Boston College, Maryland, NC State, Miami, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Idaho)

-Ohio State (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Cal, and cupcakes)

-Louisville (Ohio, Kentucky, EKU, Florida International, Temple, Rutgers, UCF, USF, UConn, Memphis, Houston, Cincy)

    Etc

    Etc

You are correct however I projected Notre Dame to be a year ahead of this epic game.
(BCSNC is a epic game IMO)

    Why?
ND cornerbacks & safeties were freshman generally.

IF Manziel is still playing college football by Sept 14, they may beat Alabama, but I expect him to be signing hospital gowns by the next day..............Saban wants his "azz" right next to the largest deer/moose head on the wall in his game room.

It's the same at every large football school. My point is they had no chance of a Big 10 championship, bowl game, or national championship.

Terrelle Pryor was better than Braxton Miller because he was a better runner. And last year was an extremely weak Heisman field. Manti Teo finished #2 for crying out loud. Pryor had Tressel who is a national championship coach.

I'm not sure where you are getting your facts from but Craig Krenzel QB'd Ohio State's last National Championship team in 2002. Joe Germaine was the QB on the 97' team in the classic game against Arizona State. Michigan and Nebraska split the title that year. I would rather have Troy Smith, the guy was a mature winner.

A big mismatch for BAMA going in would be when their corners were left on an island. I don't believe their defensive line or LBs were underrated or had such deficiencies. They were particularly stout in red zone and goal line circumstances all year. From the opening drive their LOS got destroyed, including that illustrious winner of every football award ever invented. Only at ND. Every offensive goal line situation BAMA was in, ND was blown back. Lacy, Yeldon ran over, around and through the line all evening. Another year wouldn't matter there.

I wish nor do I mean any disrespect: I feel I know Notre Dame well. Tyler Eifert made that third down catch in the first ND drive of the game. It was called incomplete and not reversed. If Alabama could win BCSNC 's without injury to Colt McCoy on the first series (in the Crimson Tide Redzone) or Eifert clearly making a catch inbounds & not getting the correct call???? IN a BCSNC???

For those that claim - Alabama would have walked away with it easily? I'm afraid I disagree. (not disrespecting Alabama in any way or their achievements but we are talking about Notre Dame here not Auburn)
