Huh? I remember Michigan spanking Meyer at Florida in a bowl game. But Meyer is at OSU so I'm really lost here.
Really? I substituted UM's name for an inappropriate term to show my disdain for that coach. Go back and read it again.
They fall into four tiers for me, I think . . . TOP = LSU, Bama HI = Carolina, Georgia MID =Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee LOW = State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Kentucky I don't know how to rate A&M and Mizzou, . . . MID or LOW.
I see where you are going and it's hard to disagree. Yet, I have a hard time putting Georgia as "HI" other than recruiting. Let's take two teams, UArk and USCe, as examples. How do you put one over the other? UArk handled USCe easily last year. I want to say the 'Backs scored in the mid-40's, and USC ended up in the high 20's? 44-28 maybe? Honestly, it was one of the worst coaching jobs I've seen out of Spurrier. Vandy had played UArk the week before and blitzed the hell out of Wilson. It was a closely fought contest. USCe, on the other hand, chose to play coverage. And, subsequently, had their arse handed to them. The main reason I say three tiers is based on results over an extended period of time. Florida, a few years ago, wouldn't be considered MID. 'tis going to be an interesting season. So, so many question marks on all the teams. There is a distinct possibility we'll see a repeat of last year. And, by that I mean, the third best team in the West is better than the East champ. Curious...how to you see UGA's visit to Mizzou ending? Part of me says UGA wins by double-digits. Then, I weigh that against how they play west of the river. Then I weigh it again on Richt. But it's Mizzou from one of the weakest defensive leagues... Leaving Bama out of this (if it's possible for some of you coonasses! ) How many absolutes can you name in the SEC for 2012? As one, I'd say LSU is going to field a good defense. What else can you point to around the conference and say, "that'll happen?"
I don't see Georgia as bad as you do, I think they beat Mizzou. LSU will field a good defense? What a shock.
Georgia? Or the LSU defense? Missouri has proven nothing in the SEC yet, Georgia has. Look how long it has taken Arkansas and Carolina to make the grade in the SEC.
Preseason polls have never meant shit before this year, why should they now. We all know that LSU has the best team in the nation, and did last year as well too, I personally don't like the attention and having to carry that burden.
