    “Traditional publishers are liable when they mess up.” True. So is Twitter, for any content it creates, just like “traditional publishers.” There is no difference.


    But under Section 230, Twitter receives a special government carve-out that shields it from liability.” False. Everyone is treated the same, including “traditional publishers” and anyone reading this tweet or breathing.


    “Companies that act like publishers should be treated like publishers.” All are treated the same under the law. The law doesn’t define anyone as a “publisher” in all contexts.

    So what you do you think of the farce this event was? They fired tear gas into peaceful protesters so bone spurs could pretend he was moved by God to bring peace.
    Trump has shown a complete failure of leadership in this crisis. To be fair he’s not the only supposed leader who has failed. The governor of Minnesota and mayor of Minneapolis have both shat all over themselves as well.
    However Trump is the president and has the preeminent responsibility to be the leader of all the people. He’s incapable of anything approaching leadership.

    For people who blame Trump for a cloudy day, nothing he ever does or says will be right. Remember, Trump sent the best equipped medical ship in the world to NYC at the height of the COVID outbreak. The city and state leaders chose to put patients in nursing homes, the ideal incubation test tube for the virus, while the USNS Comfort was never used beyond 20% capacity. Then they blamed Trump when the death toll in the nursing homes skyrocketed.

    Trump gets blasted for reacting to COVID too slowly, but if he had shut the country down the day the first case appeared in the country, they'd have crucified him for being the tyrannical fascist they've always claimed he is. They blame him for 90,000 deaths when the CDC predicted 250,000. If he had acted then as they say he should have now and not a single death occurred, they'd say he overreacted and blast him for trampling our civil rights.

    Let's make sure we're all talking about the same thing. Protest is fine. Its a protected right, and frankly, in this case, EVERYONE was onboard. When punches start being thrown at innocent people and Molotov cocktails thrown at police, it stopped being a protest and became a riot. And when, as has been demonstrated, it was found that there is a semblance of organization and intentional escalation to the riots, it became insurrection. If you're criticizing the president for holding up a bible and not condemning the insurrection, you're part of the problem.

    I have absolutely no use for anyone on the left anymore. Screw all of them.

    Had to check it out after your other post haha. There is plenty of unfair criticism of him, no doubt. And it can get tiring and annoying. But don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I don’t think everyone on the left holds the views you mentioned above. Then again, I don’t think you actually meant that everyone on the left holds those views; you’re just fed up with the leftist media bullshit.

    Trump is a Christian by birth not necessarily by faith. It is a good device for him, standing there holding a Bible and looking angry, to use to touch his base. They lap that shit up. Hold the military up in one hand and the bible up in the other. That sends chills down the spine of a MAGAman.

    However, Trump got shit for sheltering in his bunker the night before and he gets shit for leaving the White House. Secret Service has a duty to protect him. Those protesters did what they did to DC the night before and I would not trust them if I was leaving the White House for a stupid photo op.

    While I understand you distain for the left I wonder what you define as the left? It seems to me that too many on both sides allow no deviation from orthodoxy. If we are that divided we can’t talk we can have a stable society.

    @Winston1 Yeh, I was pretty generic with the term "the left" and I agree; there are some on the left who are capable of a reasonable, intelligent debate. My disgust ("disdain" isn't strong enough) is for those who have gone all in on defeat of conservatism (I believe they appear to be after Trump by they are after me and my basic freedoms) and consequences be damned. The ones that have watched our cities burn for the last few nights and dare to call them protests. They want to jail people who peacefully assembled for the right to re-open their businesses and support those who destroy businesses because a rogue cop killed a black man. That curse the president for holding a Bible on the steps of a burned church and have no condemnation of the people who burned the church. Who spend 6 month out of 4 years telling black Americans they owe them their vote, and the other 3 and a half years anally raping those same Americans. And so on, and so on, and.......
